From ActiveState :ActivePython is the complete, ready-to-install Python distribution for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Solaris, AIX and HP-UX. It includes Python core, zlib and bzip2 for data compression, SQLite (2.5-only) and Berkeley DB bindings (bsddb), Tix GUI widgets for Tkinter, ctypes (2.5-only, on some platforms) for low-level library access, PyWin32 (Windows-only): a suite of Windows tools developed by Mark Hammond, including bindings to the Win32 API and Windows COM). It also ships with complete documentation for new and experienced Python users, including Core Python docs, the "What's New in Python" series, Dive into Python, Python FAQs,Python HOWTOs, and Snapshot of the Python Enhancement Proposals (PEPs).
Version 2.5 adds full OpenSSL support, new standard extensions: SQLite, ctypes, ElementTree.
