Publisher's description
From ActiveState :Python is an interactive, interpreted, object-oriented programming language. Its clean syntax and elegant object model make it a boon for occasional and new programmers, while its powerful module and package system make it a favorite of experienced systems developers. Python is used in a variety of domains, from high schools where it is used to teach elementary programming principles to national laboratories where it is used to steer supercomputers.
ActivePython is ActiveState's free binary distribution of Python for the Linux, Solaris, and Windows platforms. ActivePython enables programmers to get up and running faster with precompiled libraries that run on all the popular operating systems, and with the numerous Windows-specific extensions by Mark Hammond, Senior Python Developer for ActiveState.
In addition to bug fixes, this release introduces all of the new features of Python 2.1. This release also contains all of Tk, a richer comparison mechanism, a warning framework, a new module documentation facility, unit testing features, and more.
