From PY Software :Active WebCam captures images up to 30 frames per second from any video device including USB and analog cameras, TV boards, capture cards, frame grabbers, camcorders, and network IP cameras. The program broadcasts captured content from your computer or uploads it to an FTP server. Broadcasting can be viewed using any Internet browser; no plug-ins or downloads are required. The program performs simultaneous recording and broadcasting from an unlimited number of cameras. Your camera(s) can be used as part of a surveillance system. When the program detects motion in the monitored area, it sounds an alarm, e-mails you captured images, starts broadcasting, or records video. Live broadcasting as well as recording can be password protected, so all video and audio are scrambled and cannot be watched without a valid password.
Version 6.9 includes capture card detection and driver installation.

Version: Active WebCam 6.9
"Just a bit complicated. Automatic features don't work well."
Cons: It detected 6 devices (I only have 2 cameras and a tv tuner card). It displayed 6 windows, with slow video on 3 of them and nothing on the rest. Some error screens saying it couldn't build the capture graph.

"It took me less then 2mins to set the program up and the picture quaity is outst"
Pros: the ease of setup and fine tuneing took less then 2 mins..This program makes my web cam look like a very expensive camera but only paid $29.00.This program is far better then any program that comes with your standard webcam.The lighting is great and the sharp crystal clear image is something that has to be seen to believe..Folk's I really believe we have a BIG winner here and the price is very fair for the quality of the product.Thanks a lot Active Web for a very good product...Ron Doucette,Montclair,Ca.

Pros: - you can choose the date-stamp with different wildcards to match your need and active webcam will "burn" it to your image.
- you can take snapshots according your own interval ( i.e. every 30 seconds ) and save the pictures to your local hard drive folder. You can also choose the incremental filename for these local images according to date/time which is very useful if you want to see what happened in certain date and time without having to open the image and see the hard-burned time-stamp.
-ftp uploading works as promised
Cons: -the usability is a little mess, when you want to change some more advanced options. A more basic-windows like graphics would be better.
-be sure to get the professional versions to have the snapshots to local hard drive-option which I think should be available in all versions.

Pros: Simple Architecture, clear layout, does exactly what it says on the tin.
Cons: This version isn't the full version so not all the features work.
