This confusing tool is supposed to reset user passwords in case your administrator password is lost. Thanks to an awkward interface and trial restriction, we were never able to get it to work.
When we first installed Active Password Changer, we encountered a basic user interface that let you choose which drive (USB or CD-ROM) to format. A large start button sits prominently at the bottom of the small window. Right away, we knew we were in trouble when we tried to choose the Vista-based Bootable CD/DVD. Our PC runs with Vista, and the trial restriction prevented us from selecting it as an option. When we tried to access the program at a later time, a DOS screen appeared with three options--choose a logical drive, search for MS SAM database(s), and finally, exit. Regardless of our selection, we received the same response message stating our hard disk could not be supported. We're assuming this has something to do with our PC's operating system and the trial restriction. With no Help menu in sight, we couldn't get the program to work.
Since we couldn't get this program to work properly for us, we certainly can't offer it our recommendation.

Forgotten password recovery software is useful if you lost the administrator password and cannot access the operation system. Other Windows login security restrictions like 'Account is disabled', 'Password never expires', 'Account is locked out', 'User Must Change Password at Next Logon' and 'Logon Hours' can be changed or reset. Supported platforms: Windows XP, 2000, NT, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Vista.
Active@ Password Changer Professional version now contains Windows application and Active@ Boot Disk Lite--Windows Vista based bootable CD/DVD ISO image. You can now recover your passwords and account's attributes from Windows environment. Version 3.0.420 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Cons: It doesn't work, all it is is a cheap demo that tells you that you have to pay the piper before you can even find out if it works or not.

"it didn't work on the server! My Main reason for purchasing it."
Cons: I purchased it to reset the admin PW on the server with W2000. Didn't work so I'm out my $$
