Ordered online - Billed me an additional $2000+ on top of my $54.95 order for goods not in the shopping cart. Yikes.
Summary
Ordered online - shopping cart showed $54.95 with one item. Hit submit and was charged $2073.85. Between submit and billing they added 1 additional copy of Professional Suite for $1799, 10 copies of Windows Boot Disk Add'l License $200 and $19.95 for Product media.
They said they are going to give me a refund. The very scary thing about this is the person who answers the phone at LSoft Technologies was not at all interested in hearing that there may be a problem with their website store. She assumed I had made some sort of mistake, or that someone else had previously used my computer to order from them...I forwarded my concerns via email to Lsoft.
I will not do an online transaction with Lsoft Technologies again. -

10 min. after download I had a boot disk created and started the HD wiping process.
Cons
Free version only does a single pass overwrite of all the data on the drive. Paid version has several more secure options.

If I'd gotten it to work, I'd have been delighted to have a single-floppy wipe disk utility.
Cons
For whatever reason, the FreeDOS kernel used with this product hung on bootup on the two older machines I worked with (a Compaq Presario 3900 and a Dell Optiplex GX250).
Summary
Assuming it can boot the system you want to wipe, this looks promising due to the reviews. Alas, it wouldn't work for me. I ended up using a Linux-based wipe disk utility (Darik's Boot And Nuke), which was absolutely perfect for my needs.

Summary
My computer got infected so had to wipe it and start again. Window washer didn't want to play ball so decided to try this program. I'm no expert, but it worked for me first time; cannot fault it!

The KillDisk boot CD has a very simple menu with multiple handy programs: Active@ Uneraser, Active@ killdisk, Active@ Partition Recovery, Active@ Password Changer, Active@ NTFS Reader, Active@DISK Image.
Cons
Very small con: the Setup file doesn't work under Windows 98, however the KillDisk boot image ISO file does, so take a look a the manufacturer's site.
Summary
Had an old Windows 98 computer with 4,7 GB hdd where I needed to get rid off.
First, I tried use Active@ KillDisk Free edition (11,2 MB exe file) under Windows 98, but that wasn't supported under Windows 98.
Secondly, I used Active@ KillDisk Free edition, by downloading the bootable ISO Image file (4,4 MB ZIP) from the manufacturers site www.killdisk.com/downloadfree.htm.
The ZIP contains an ISO-file, a readme file (manual) and freeware ISO-burn exe file to burn ISO file to CD. CD runs completely in DOS-mode at boot.
The CD has multiple programs: Active@ Uneraser, Active@ killdisk, Active@ Partition Recovery, Active@ Password Changer, Active@ NTFS Reader, Active@DISK Image.
Active@ KillDisk Free edition uses one-pass-zero erase technology, where the fully paid version has multiple algorithms to erase data on HDD and to verify actions.
Very easy program, easy to follow, easy to understand. I'm enthousiastic. -

The bootable setup didn't work at all. I tried it 4 different ways and even put in another drive and it still gave me the same error.

Summary
I use this tool to format hard drives every week. It has NEVER let me down and is a must to anyone wishing to rebuild a PC from scratch. It has a handy USB & Bootable Disk creator which, again, works everytime.
