From Active Data Recovery Software :Active Boot Disk (Win Edition) is a bootable Live CD DVD USB Flash for system recovery purposes. You can use it to boot up any computer, recover your lost data, reset Windows passwords, make computer system backups, securely erase data, control disk condition, manage partitions and much more. Active Boot Disk contains a lightweight version of Windows Vista (c) running in RAM (WinPE 2.0). Each license of the WinPE 2.0 operating system should be registered as required by Microsoft Corporation.

"Solid ability to resolve real problems"
Pros: Creating a bootable USB drive enables me to work on a system to get a clear picture of what is wrong and what needs to be done to fix it.
Cons: Would be nice if it included some additional tools like some other rescue disks have.
Summary: If you are looking for a simple straight forward solution for getting access to a corrupt hard drive, recover data and manage many other things, than this tool is worth the money to buy it. It works well, and does everything it claims.

"It boots but not into Microsoft Windows"
Pros: It is easy to install
Cons: It does allow you to recover files, although it changes all the dates on the file to the current day, but it does so in its own operating system and not normal Windows. You can copy files to back up but cannot run your programs.
Summary: Very deceptive name. You buy it for $79 thinking it will boot you into Windows XP or Vista. It will not. Pretty close to worthless if you normally keep backups of files.
