From Active Data Recovery Software :

Active Boot Disk (Win Edition) is a bootable Live CD DVD USB Flash for system recovery purposes. You can use it to boot up any computer, recover your lost data, reset Windows passwords, make computer system backups, securely erase data, control disk condition, manage partitions and much more. Active Boot Disk contains a lightweight version of Windows Vista (c) running in RAM (WinPE 2.0). Each license of the WinPE 2.0 operating system should be registered as required by Microsoft Corporation. Version 3.0.088 supports Windows Vista SP1 & Windows Server 2008.

Note: This is a very large (118MB) file and may take several hours to download via slow Internet connection.

"Effectiveness of disk"

Pros: Friend had a laptop that had crashed and he didn't have a recovery disk. Used the Active@Boot Disk, accessed his Windows and repaired the problem. Outstanding.
