Acronis True Image remains one of the most user-friendly and powerful applications in its class. Unlike most other disk-image utilities, you can perform all the tasks without exiting Windows. However, if your system can't boot, Acronis True Image can be launched from a CD or a disk. A scheduler and an incremental method (saving only sectors changed since the last backup) minimize the fuss of backing up your system so you can perform it every day. Another great feature, Secure Storage, lets you make images inaccessible from Windows so they can't be damaged. The program works at a decent speed, 1GB in five minutes, and doesn't considerably affect system speed. Acronis True Image supports all features necessary to a home user: compression, password protection, the ability to split an image into several volumes, and the ability to move your system to another hard drive. This new version offers an option that lets you specify which files and folders you'd like to archive. You can browse images as if they were usual hard drives and extract only necessary files. The program's wizard-based instructive interface suits inexperienced users. Acronis True Image doesn't offer professional features, such as installing an image on multiple PCs at once, but we consider it a must-have for home users who want to safeguard their systems.Publisher's description

Version: Acronis True Image Home 2009
"Very Unreliable, Don't Trust to Safeguard your System"
Pros: Absolutely nothing......
Cons: Wasted 6 DVD's putting a whole computer on backup only to try to retreive and find out all the discs are corrupt. Acronis is famous for this and I would not waste time using this very undependable software.
Summary: DON'T USE.........

Pros: Uninstalled. I am not using it.
Cons: See bottom-line summary.
Summary: This product was a hugh disappointment. It does not support drag and drop. It does not support control-click or shift click to select/deselect files. You have to download a 89 MB file just to bring it up to date. I have email Support twice without a... read more >>

Version: Acronis True Image Home 2009
Pros: The only thing I see bad about is the users inability to understand & use it properly. I to am new to Acronis having recently changed to it from a competitor. It is not difficult to use but thats because I took the time to dig into the help file!
Cons: Can be complicated for some with a learning curve that has to be gone through. A little slower then what I'm used to but accurate just the same.
Summary: This is the most full featured app of it's type I've seen. Help file is extensive but answers are there if you take the time to look. Don't expect free support as they want to charge about $30.00 a whack for it. That my friends, is what a help file ... read more >>

Version: Acronis True Image Home 2009
"Regardless of these reviews, it's a good program!"
Pros: It;s easy to get comfortable with something and older versions of this app are a perfect example. I switched from Ghost to Acronis & had to take some time to figure it out. I did & it works like a charm. And thats on XPMCE.
Cons: It;s complicated & has a bigger learning curve then Ghost. I switched because Ghost recoveries weren't stable. These are exact. Paid customer support sucks! Learning curve is high, but the help file amswered all my questions.
Summary: Seriously, before complaining, take the time to learn how to use it! It has an extensive & comprehensive help file, I recommend using it just like I had to do. I use Vista Ultimate & have Paragon Hard Disk Manager installed on it. I can assu... read more >>
