Acorn Email is a POP3 and SMTP email client designed for use via a direct connection to the Internet. It may be used behind a firewall or via a proxy server, but is sometimes unable to perform well in such a setting. Acorn has features, such as previewing messages on the server (for selective downloading, deleting, or both); and User Profiles, that make Acorn a useful tool for persons sharing a single Internet email account. These features also work well for persons who have more than one POP3 email account to manage.Acorn Email offers many standard features, such as spell checking, simple text signatures, email message folder management, message queueing, email address lists for commonly used addresses, saving copies of sent mail, sending and receiving attachments and so on. Acorn also includes features such as vCard support, and a viewer window for HTML messages and attachemnts. Acorn Email's editor window also acts as a simple text editor that is able to load, edit and save any plain text file.
