Very nice and feature-packed. Excellent colors tab.
Cons
It creates a conflict who doesn't allow to work with Adobe Dreamweaver (who won't even start).
Summary
If you already have Adobe Dreamweaver installed on your laptop - and you want another editor for quick retouches - don't use AceHTML (neither Pro nor Freeware); if you do, Dw won't even start.
Plus, you're forced to install VMN Toolbar, who is a totally uselessly, cluttering thing. -

Please make sure you read the second part of the license agreement carefully, the comments posted by the host of this download, in this case download.com state "spyware" free. Based on the toolbar install that you must install with this application that collects personal data from you, it is clear as consumers we must rise up and be wary of the legal term "spyware free" which in this case must mean it does not slip into your computer without your knowledge. Essentially it is spyware it simply meets the legal requirements that prevent it from being called as such.

"Does the basics well, fails when push comes to shove"

Good syntax highlighting, useful shortcuts and menubuttons.
Cons
The syntax highlighting is buggy when you're coding asp/javascript, and the program often freezes or hangs. The project feature would have been nice, if it worked. The syntax-checker is almost useful, except that it lists some valid code as syntax errors. I have used this program for two years, and now it's time to move on as these errors seems to remain unfixed.

Read the licensing agreement (2nd part) before you agree. You just allowed them to install a toolbar that collects information about you. While you can turn off certain aspects of the collection mechanism, there is no way to eliminate the tool bar.
This is not Freeware, when you have this kind of obligation.

This product is full of the neccesary features needed to code in a tidy and clean way and is very easy to learn! Allows you to save snippets of code for frequent use. Can preview in various browsers. Has little icons next to CSS codes letting you know whats an IE code and whats W3C standard. Handy image insertion tools. Built in Image Map maker. Search and replace entire folders. Colour coded code (customizable) ... the list goes on. If you know your way around HTML and other coding/scripting languages and need an editor to make your coding life a lot easier then definately give this editor a go!
Cons
When you edit CSS with the built in editor thingee it completely messes up your code, the actual code is fine but if you have it laid out for easy reading then it will mes up that layout. More icons for the custom code snippets area needed. A few bugs but nothing major that ive found. For the ones saying its hard to use, get a WYSIWYG editor cos this is not one! you can preview it but you gotta know how to write the code before that.
Other than that no complaints!
