AbsoluteTelnet provides Telnet, SSH, SSH2, dialup, and serial connectivity in the new tabbed multi-session interface or the classic single-session interface. A wide range of emulations are provided, including VT100, VT220, VT320, XTERM, WYSE60, ANSI, SCO-ANSI, ANSI-BBS, and QNX. Packed with options such as SOCKS5, IPV6, BIDI (bidirectional text), Arabic shaping, and IDNA (International Domain Names for Applications), Absolute is sure to support the technology you need. Absolute supports single-sign-on capability through advanced authentication features such as smartcard, and GSSAPI (ActiveDirectory, Kerberos and NTLM). Encryption options such as Blowfish, Twofish, AES, Arcfour, 3DES, Cast128, IDEA, and RC4 provide maximum security in today's insecure environments. Xmodem, ymodem, and zmodem protocols provide extensive file-transfer support. Also supports serial ports greater than COM9 and has a variable scrollback size.

"Great terminal emulator with SSH connectivity"

Pros
Extremely easy to use software with top notch support from author. I use this program daily connecting to various machines on the internet for remote administration. AbsoluteTelnet allows me to connect using SSH and close down the telnet service to help reduce my servers exposure to well known exploits. I also use AbsoluteTelnet for serial communications to industrial PLC's. Making and saving communication profiles on my computer makes it really convenient to plug into a remote host and connect. So far, the ANSI / VT100 terminal emulation is without flaw! Recently moving to Vista, I had many questions. I emailed the author and to my delight he answered me within a hour. We discussed some problems I was having and within a few more hours he sent me some beta code to try; and the fixes worked! I was extremely impressed. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who needs a reliable SSH / Telnet / Serial terminal emulator.
Cons
I found the initial setup of public / private keys a bit confusing at first. However, after you have done one, its a walk in the park there after.

Pros
It's just one terminal emulator among many available for Windows but the features are what make AbsoluteTelnet shine brighter than the rest. I know I can depend on AT when I need it as well as the author. I've seen people in the support forum ask questions and receive their answers in hours, not days or weeks! It really is superb software.

Pros
This thing just works, and it works great. It's stable, has tabbed windows, and the developer is responsive to questions and suggestions.
Cons
The user interface is a little dated, and slightly cluttered. But it really isn't a big deal.
