Has many features including 5 different methods to move the pieces including your voice, 5 skill levels for all levels of play and, along with the default board, there are more than 32 attractive boards to choose. Now has a Tutor mode that can help you increase your playing skills much faster. Can be played using English, German, French, Spanish, Dutch or Italian. Uses speech and also works with OS 8 and 9 (requires CarbonLib). For those concerned that the dice rolls might not be random, the game has an option to save the dice rolls, to be used in the game, to a file in the game folder before the game starts. There is also and option to ask if you want to use your dice rolls or the computer's dice rolls. With these 2 options selected, even the most skeptical can be assured that the game is not cheating. Also, you can check the stats that the game keeps to assure you that the dice rolls are random and not favoring either player.
What's new in this version: - in v7.2 game messages were in english for other languages. Fixed in this version - files are no long saved in the documents folder - are now saved in the Applications Support folder - your information/stats will not be lost. - fixed any know problems - be sure to check out all of the beautiful board styles and sizes

Summary
There have been over 50,000 downloads of this game on this site. During one of their recent site upgrades they lost the downloads counts for some all of my products, starting the count back at 0 a couple of months ago.

Summary
This game is the real deal and well designed for players of different levels. There are numerous settings to let you set up the style of game you want to play. Take a look at the designer's promotional descriptions at his web site....I found these to be accurate. There are not many good backgammon games available for the Mac computer, so we are fortunate to have this fine one to call upon! Give it a test drive with the demo, and I anticipate that many folks will find as I did that the $25 price of the full game is good value.
