Version: Ability Mail Server 2.51
"Great product. Average support."
Pros: I bought the cadillac version of this mail server for my company. I evaluated several products and this product provided best value for the money. Mind you the enterprise version is a lot more than $75. The product offers all implementation of Internet mail standards. Ability mail server has a decent spam support. Over all, it has everything you will ever look for in a mail server. Please read my cons comments for this product.
Cons: 1. I absolutely hate the fact that the product has to retstart when you try to change the configuration using the application interface (If the program was running as service). The program either runs as service or application. This is absolutely unnecessary and I am sure they can fix it.
2. The support is meager. My Windows 2000 version started giving problem after the latest update. The mail server will just hang while swicthing to service mode after the configuration changes were done. The company has not done much to fix this issue. I can understand that they should be able to reproduce the problem to fix it. However, they do not realize that a production server can not be shutdown or restarted. So, now, I just use the web based interface to configure the system.
3. This is just minor. The web based mail reader (Supplied with the mail server) logs you off, when you click on HOME button (Behavior by design).
