This application effectively monitors your system memory usage and frees extra memory space, but caused some system sluggishness during our tests. Abexo Memory Defragmenter's basic main option window has a few simple settings for adjusting the limit for the amount of memory to trigger defragmentation, the amount of memory to free, and the interval between memory defragmenting sessions. The small icon in your system tray displays the amount of free memory left, and a change in the color of the icon tells you when it's time to release more. You can manually defragment memory by right-clicking the icon, which dramatically increased the free memory in our tests. We didn't experience any instability, though the process tended to choke other applications, making their performance a bit sluggish. We also noticed an increase in page-file usage and CPU workload. This five-day trial program effectively performs its job, but we suggest users look for a less resource-intensive way to monitor and free memory.
