This program finds files inside archives, but opens only those files associated with a particular program. AX-ZIP's standard Windows file-tree interface takes mere moments to learn, but some pull-down menu commands are confusing. This tool provides three quick searching modes and supports file and archive masking. You easily include or exclude files based on size or modification dates, but with problem results. Our tests found that it's easy to be confused by the file and archive masking. Unintuitive, it failed to include the expected files in many cases. You can open associated files wiht a double-click, but not from the Found Files window. Opening files can only be done at the Active Browser window, a feature we found confusing. This program is built to search only file names in ZIP files. Don't expect to search specific content inside text or document files. Users with great numbers of ZIP files may find this tool useful, but should test it fully during the trial period to see how well it works for them.Publisher's description

Version: AX-ZIP Finder 1
Pros: It's very fast. And accurate. It has an inuitive way about it: an explorer-like window shows you your directories with checkboxes to choose which ones you wanna search. It accepts wildcard characters.
Cons: I couldn't find how to extract with the drag-and-drop option. It seems obvious, but I just couldn't do it; I tried to drag and drop the files onto my desktop, in a folder, in an application, etc. nothing worked. Also, it would've been nice to be able to export to a text file or spreadsheet the results, or at least print them as a list, but the option isn't available.
