it does not have the ability to extract an audio track from video and play with it. because of this i uninstalled it same day

If you upgrade your PC or old one dies your lifetime license goes away. They automatically assume you are a thief using your key on more than one PC. They will not respond to emails. They will ignore you totally. Bought a Lifetime end of April 07 - machine crashed in May. My lifetime license lasted 4 weeks. Bought a new PC and was denied what I paid for to this day. Don't ever upgrade your machine or you will lose your money. Bad company to deal with absolutely no professionalism.

I like the product. It helps me to create slideshows, using different effects and adding my own audio, that I create with audio editor, which is included into the package. I am french and I was pleased to discover that it has an interface in french!
Cons
I am new at editing and I had some questions. But it was solved, when I visited Animated Tutorials.

I have a lot of videos recorded with my Sony camcorder, that I need to edit. AVS Video Editor is much of help for me, as I can capture the video directly from my camcorder to a project, edit it by applying amazing effects and cutting unwanted scenes and burn it to a DVD disc. That is the desired result!
Cons
There are some limitations on importing files to the storyboard. But after contacting the support staff I managed to solve this problem.

AVS is an awesome editor with tons of cool effects. It is really nice that it supports most video formats including .MOV

AVS has a lot of bugs... it tends to freeze and encounter a lot of errors, causing the user to loose any unsaved work. Can be very frustrating at times

CNet: Please note that I have an e-mail from AVS indicating that their software IS NOT compatible with Microsoft Vista (your listing of AVS Video Editor as compatible with Vista is false / misleading)
After purchasing the shareware, I could not register it (multiple tries: installing, uninstalling, rebooting, installing again, etc., etc., etc.)
Once I explained my intent to AVS (aka Online Media) and RegNow (their money launderer) to turn both of them over to multiple US federal agencies, I was finally able to get my money back.
THERE IS BETTER SOFTWARE OUT THERE!!
I purchased Adobe Premier Elements which is a MUCH* better editor and doesn't cost that much more than the AVS editor.
*I'm just starting out with video editing so I don't know if Adobe is the best or easiest, but I do know its far better than AVS.

Pros
The software tested well. After I paid the $40 and registered the program, the software became progressively worse. Tech support doesn't respond, either. Put your money in a real company's software.
Cons
Tech support doesn't respond to messages. The software tested pretty well. But, as soon as I registered the product, the video previews in the Trim utility disappeared. I've done everything (reboot, re-install software) I can to make the software perform the way it did during testing, and nothing has worked. I have enough RAM memory. So, how can you edit video if you can't see the filmed footage?
