Version: AVS Video Editor 3.3.3
Pros: Works for a lot of different video files. Specifically, I needed a video editor for the Sanyo HD1 .mp4 files, where many programs do not work or are more expensive.
The whole suite is only $49 US (a special - the editor is $39 by itself).
Cons: At times the program give memory errors and locked ( perhaps because I had some of their other programs open??).

"Great replacement for Nero 7 bug-ware"
Pros: Currently you can buy the whole suite of AVS video products as a bundle for only $49. This is a great buy. This software works wonderfully, is clearly noted with instructions as well as samples and video help. The help is excellent and the support from AVS is wonderful (they are real people).
Any issues are not surprising. All the modules use a lot of disk space (what video software doesn't?). If you don't have the disk space you shouldn't be using video software in the first place. My dual core laptop at 166 mhz is not lightning fast, but these results are worth waiting for.
So far (and I have just started using the converter and the editor modules) I have been getting really super results - perfect video files and DVDs.
I think this may be the best video suite you can get for any price.
Cons: Not much - the central menu came up once when I installed the toolkit but I can't find it again (so far). (It is like the main module in Nero 7, except that when you go to the module you want - it actually works). There are a lot of modules so a one stop startup menu is important.
I am sure I will find it again.

"A Very impressive Editor for the Money, if you are looking for a Class 2 video e"
Pros: While looking for an Audio Video editor that was under $50.00 and worked with Windows, I tried 13 different programs. The AVS Media Video Editor is the best in this class. It will be very hard to find a program with the ease of interface and tools available without moving up into a several hundred dollar program.
This program provided all of the key points I was looking for in a video editor.
1. Ease of use, A very nice interface, simplicity of use, but still has lots of features
2. Frame specific editing
3. Automated Scene detection, I do not have to search for specific areas of a video
4. Story board layout
5. Cut/splice editing with transitions, and effects
6. Effect, color, and light editing
7. Cost under $50.00
One last reiteration of a previous review, AVS is offering a very good Media Bundle that can rival Nero 7. The integrated help files, tutorial, and tech service absolutely puts Nero 7 to shame. At $49.00, it is a great buy. I am very surprised not to have heard of AVS before now.
Cons: The only problem I have had is an occasional lockup when dealing with video programs over 3Gb. I cut this into 3 parts, with no further problems, and simply spliced it back together once I was done.
