    "good program easy to use"

    January 04, 2011   |   By animekane

    Version: AVS DVD Authoring 1.3.3.46

    Pros

you can use video, images, as your dvd menu background, change size & location of dvd menu buttons add text on dvd menu add background music use vob, quicktime videos, & many more use dvds dvd r, rw, dl, + & -

    Cons

if you background picture is to big you cant crop it to fit dvd menu, not big issue with this option i accidently deleted chapter to make dvd it would let me make dvd menu chapter 2 still learnig to use some of its features of chapters & titles

    Summary

great program easy to use range dvd menu layouts anywhere to any size you want, add video, image or basic colors for dvd video menu background or dvd buttons very good from others i have tried out i am intersted to see what updates they decide to do with this program to make it better i would like to see an option to change background image size for bigger pictures if you make background image as your background 500/500 you can edit it to make it big or small as you want but you cant do it with 1450/ 1100 pictures of that size if there is way i havnt found it yet making dvd is little slow but i perfer slow but speed isnt everything i do not have trouble saving my progress i ma using windows XP it saves my progress perfectly & i can load my progress & edit it just fine when making dvd., you do not need to have button checked verify dvd when making your dvd i perfer that option to be on when making my dvds but it depends on user alone. like some programs i ive seen i would really like to this option to be included on the next release if there is one let there be button to click to preview button your dvd work so you can test out your dvd menus, & dvd buttons before dvd making process is being made to look at layout. if i had to choose what i would like to see added to next release preview button i will like to see next to test out dvd menu & buttons itself before dvd making process begins that nero dvd creator has preview your work before you make dvd

    "Great as a Bundled Package!"

    February 03, 2010   |   By aripota

    Version: AVS DVD Authoring 1.3.3.46

    Pros

The program lets you tweak existing movies and add content such as pictures, sound and even a running commentary if you like. I have used this program often in Vista and have had no problems with it.

    Cons

The add ons sometimes use too much space to fit on a conventional DVD. If dividing a movie into small chapters is the way you want to go, I reccomend burning the data on a Double layer DVD so you can get the full content of your project.

    Summary

The product is easy to use with a few glitches when it comes to the ease of operation of the product. Otherwise, I recommend it for designing your own DVD projects or adding a commentary to pictures you have been meaning to save to a CD.

    "Can't Save Projects"

    December 17, 2009   |   By sirenwerks

    Version: AVS DVD Authoring 1.3.3.46

    Pros

When I first started using AVS DVD Authoring, I thought it was great. For me, it had a minimal learning curve and worked flawlessly. That was on the first project I created and burned.

    Cons

Running Win 7 on a new system I was unable to save a project. The only response I received from AVS is that this will be corrected in the next version. If you want to repeat projects, think twice about buying this product.

    Summary

Why do I dislike this product? If I take the time to create a project, I want to be able to save it. If you make one-offs, the program's serious flaw won't bother you. If you want to save to repeat or tweak a project, find something else until they fix it.

The fact that AVS released this product with such a major problem, and without warning, makes me doubt their credibility and whether their suite of other programs will work as they exclaim.

    "DO NOT TRY THIS GARBAGE"

    September 26, 2009   |   By THEWONDERSLUG

    Version: AVS DVD Authoring 1.3.3.46

    Pros

REVO uninstaller gets all of the tentacles out after you screamingly uninstall this junk

    Cons

it's even offered on a respectable site like DL.com

    Summary

    hmmm...lemme think...

After the complete install...(this isn't one prog, it's 3...these swine put in all sorts of 'buy our junk' addons)...you can launch the prog...
A small screen pops up saying "You are using an unregistered version"...your options are
    1. Visit Our Site! or
    2. Continue

Of course you continue because you'd like to try this before you spring for however much they want...
You import...unless your file is about 10mb you're not getting anything better than 'Standard Play' the 'Build HiRES' feature is cool, except for the fact it turns you AVI or MPG or even VOB into a file size that won't fit in your garage...no offered compressor of any type...
then it pops up these screens where you can layout the intros, scene choices, etc...fine...
You go through all of this , get the thing at long last to the proper size, proper everything and you're ready to go!!!!

    WRONG

as soon as you hit 'GO!' it THEN tells you there'll be a watermark of their garbage company on your output...

NOT AT THE BEGINNING OF THE PROCESS WHEN THEY COULD SAY "HEY,BUY THIS OR YOU GET IT"...IT'S RIGHT WHEN YOU HIT CREATE...

So it leaves you in the lovely spot of putting $$ in these gutter scums pocket or dumping your 3 hours of work and getting something else...

Take my advice...DUMP IT and look for anything else...I can't offer hints there because I gave the thing to a buddy running Adobe Audtion and we did it there...ImToo makes some good stuff...even the usually horrible Sonic is better than this junk...

This company should be ashamed...but they won't be...

    The designers
