Though not as well-known as some competitors, this antivirus program offers rock-solid protection. AVG Anti-Virus Professional provides all the necessities, including a tool for scanning your hard drive and e-mail, as well as a real-time shield to prevent infections.
You'll find a full-blown scheduling utility for automating tasks and checking for new definitions as often as you'd like. Other perks found in this Pro version include technical support and the ability to run on multiple operating systems. Should a virus create serious system problems, AVG creates a rescue disk to scan your computer in MS-DOS mode.
The program doesn't tax your system when scanning or when running in the background, and it always proved effective in our tests. The interface can't be described as beautiful, yet it is mostly simple to navigate.
Though the free version of this program will suffice for average folks, those who demand more control should certainly consider AVG Anti-Virus Professional.

Program should have anti-spy mechanism's that allow the user to make a personal scan instead of relying on just the word "That there is no spyware found! would give user more confidence in seeing an actual Spyware-Scan.

Anyone that "Claims" this is not a good program/Product is lacking seriously in the intelligence dept.Although this may not be the "Best" anti-virus program on the market it difinitely does what it was designed for and does not lag far behind any of the high-priced anti-virus programs on the $Market$. Doesn't use all resources as the paid system hogs do. Amazing how this free AV out works the pricy suites. False security. Be careful, or just stick with AVG. I HOPE they add a firewall.

none yet. I love it. Serves me better than norton or CA. No complaints.

Real- time protection always on (my settings). Very versatile utility you can configure to your needs. Great email protection whether through isp or web mail ie: yahoo, hotmail, etc. Not much else to say except I love ot!

"Lots of problems, I can't get up dates for any program."

I have bought the licence and still nothing. I can still not download updates for any of my program now including this one. use to work well then something happened to it. I was told my system had a virus and then your product stopped working.

I need fixes for it NOW or my system is doomed and it will cost me even more money. For years your system worked, what happened?

Does not slow your computer down virus protection quite good better than the free one which I have first hand experience.
Cons
The firewall on the internet security ver is poor as it does not warn you when programs try to access the internet, its also is poor at configuring the firewal in the adv section which confusing and im a system admin as well as a network floorwalker.

not worth the money £35.00 more like £20.00 wouldnt pay any more for it.

This Anti-Virus program did not catch or delete the vundo trojan i cought while surfing the net. After running multiple scans AGV said my computer was clean but I knew it wasn't.

I bought this product because it seemed like a good anti virus after reading all the reviews and it claimed it wouldnt slow my computer down like other anti virus programs. So I tried it and what a mistake, while doing research for a flat panel TV i entered a web site that had the vundo trojan on it and boom pop ups galore and no response from the AVG program it was like the program wasn't even there!! the trojan kept turning off my firewall protection and throwing up pop ups, so i quickly disconnected from the net and ran a virus scan using AVG it showed that it found the virus and removed it, what a crock after multiple scans and the AGV software stating the virus had been removed my firewall protection was still being turned off, so i took my computer to a network pro and he found the virus and was able to remove it completely from my computer of course for the cost of $500 dollars. He also stated AGV was a weak program and that i should switch to McAffe due to it offers as an option a site advisor that will help me stay away from sites that contain viruses, so i did and all is back to normal except for the fact my wallet is a bit lighter. Use this program at your own risk.

"Bad Experience"

Guess I am protected against virus, but.......

purchased from online site for $34.99 USD to find they charged my account in British Pounds plus an International Fee ($65.85). Had problem getting a refund and only got $60 back. The USA headquarters also has no phone numbers to contact anyone.
