Though not as well-known as some competitors, this antivirus program offers rock-solid protection. AVG Anti-Virus Professional provides all the necessities, including a tool for scanning your hard drive and e-mail, as well as a real-time shield to prevent infections.
You'll find a full-blown scheduling utility for automating tasks and checking for new definitions as often as you'd like. Other perks found in this Pro version include technical support and the ability to run on multiple operating systems. Should a virus create serious system problems, AVG creates a rescue disk to scan your computer in MS-DOS mode.
The program doesn't tax your system when scanning or when running in the background, and it always proved effective in our tests. The interface can't be described as beautiful, yet it is mostly simple to navigate.
Though the free version of this program will suffice for average folks, those who demand more control should certainly consider AVG Anti-Virus Professional.

"Incredible Antivirus Read Review"
Pros: Unlike the other person here that didnt like it and didnt said anything concrete, here is my explanation. AVG simply works great in any PC, it doesnt take too much resources on your PC and YES it finds its targets, If the spyware is already in your system is obvious that you will have too work harder to get it out, but try installing something when its fully workin, the virus simply will not make it alive.
This Antivirus is fast and reliable, its updates are constant and it doens slow your PC like others (caugh**Norto**caugh*MacAff*caugh*) Sorry for the interruption. Like I was saying its THE ANTIVIRUS. If you want to try it better use the Free Version it has the same engine it just lacks some features, But works in the same way. Professional is for companies (LICENSE), Free is for regular users (So you dont have to pay).
Cons: Some times has trouble with spyware (very rare), but here is the secret Spybot Search and Destroy 1.5 (FREE for everyone)

Pros: you know after trying so meny software programs
YOU KNOW ! whats Good and what is ****
so i get to the point dont put in your system
even if your poor and dont have any money for a software propgame
dont put it in becouse you wont have any money to buy a new computer
but what do i know its not like iv bean doing this for YEARS !
Cons: if i was to tell you what i didnt like about this program

Didnt find virus
Reason 2. Didnt find spyware if fact it didnt find any thing ALL !
Reason 3. it put adware in my system.. and it was well hiden if i didnt have my Shark program to find it i would had it for Life like in person !
Reason 4. slow my system down my 5 mhz and took up space for nothing
why have a program that dose nothing in you system if you get my point
best thing for you to do is move down the list to the next software progame

Pros: -enables you to set it up so you can run it last thing at night and allow it to shut down your PC
-doesn't complain that it can't suppot fast-switching (useful on a multi-user accounts machine)
- very well structured; easy to use
Cons: - takes an awful long time to perform a full scan
