while scanning different browsers i find things i am not sure of so i first scan with a v g to be sure...so far everything has been good..

AVG Free does everything that I want it to do and then some. I have had no misadventures since I first installed this gem some years ago. Although threats have come and gone and come again, AVG has kept me safe and sound. Thanks Grisoft!
I like this program so much that I am thinking of buying the a/v - firewall version on the next upgrafe. Thinking about it - but I'm basically cheap.

It appears to adequately protect my computer from viruses, when it doesn't cause a "crash"....
Cons
Ever since I replaced my Norton product with this free-ware, I've had increasing instances of the "blue screen" where my Windows crashes. I've lost information only once, but the annoyance factor is over-the-top. Each time, the explanation I get when I report the problem is that software is not installed properly. When I attempt downloading your "new" versions, the computer either crashes, or I get the message that the files from AVG are corrupted....
