Large database of virus signatures prompting time to time for updation.
Cons
Excessive prompting of malicious data/filenames hampering the users speed.
Summary
I have been using the product for the last 3 years. I am satisfied with the performance, except repeated prompting is a minor disturbance. Rest is fine.

AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition. What else is there to explain? It's free, recommended to every PC owner who is not protected, and it doesn't take forever to do a full system scan. Doesn't even slow down your comp on startup or when online gaming. Even includes daily updates for free. The other programs I've used were limited when it comes to updates. You can even register for free and check on the fourms. It's not that great. But certainly not that bad.

AVG Free is one of the best antivirus programmes on the market, and its free! For my money, it stands head-and-shoulders above Norton Crapware and many other expensive, slow and unreliable virus-checkers.
The updates are fast and very regular - you can allow it to update automatically, or do so manually.
I have never had any problems with this software, it just does its job well. Also, it doesn't chew-up too much in the way of system resources (unlike Norton, for example).
I strongly urge you to give this product a go!

It compares well to paid versions and is compatible with antispyware programs. It is fast and lite as stated by other reviews and updates daily. Recently found trojans and dealt with them fast and efficiently, has several features which are constantly monitoring and email check works well.One of the best Free programs.

A day after installing it, my system crashes hard on a Blue Screen Of Death. I have to bood from CD-ROM and CHKDSK. Coincidence? maybe.

Not even Macaffe or Norton are compared to this baby, the way it works and his Resident Shield works miracles. I have installed both Norton and AVG and infect the PC on purpose while AVG was screaming Norton was calm as if nothing happend... Great support and constant updating are a PLUS... I recommended to everyone...
