Version: AV Voice Changer Software Diamond Edition 4.0.67

"A fun program, but one that can't always be relied on."

Pros: Av Voice Changer Diamond is a solid product. It is reasonably easy to use, and the preset voices are an added bonus. The trial version is very restricted, but once you have the full version you can truly experience what is a lot of fun. Voice changing in real time means there are all sorts of fun uses available - from Internet telephone to instant messenger voice conversations. It recognised my microphone straight away, which was a bonus as many sound programs seem not to, and I could get started straight away. I did manage to fool a friend, which was great - hearing the "Err... who is this?" made me laugh for hours.

Cons: Despite all the great features, and the potential of the program, it simply can't be relied on. When I first installed it, I tried to use the presets - not a single one made me sound anything like it should have done. One of the options for male input, "Charming Girl" made me sound like a computerised robot having an 'off' day. People have commented I have quite a feminine voice before, so this was probably the problem, but the female input didn't work for me either. I did get it working reasonably well after a LONG while and lots of customisation, and still use it occasionally, but its a great pity that the presets don't work for me - if you have a voice type that doesn't fit quite in the 'norm', beware.
