"Second screen goes bananas (extended desktop)"
Version: ATI Catalyst Display Driver with Catalyst Control Center (Windows Vista 32-bit) 11.11
Pros
Seems stable when using only one screen.
Cons
Faulty Extended desktop: the secondary screen is displaying anything except what it should be displaying.

"Different Problem I guess."
Version: ATI Catalyst Display Driver with Catalyst Control Center (Windows Vista 32-bit) 11.4
Pros
It did at least download properly.
Cons
While I know this Driver has some use for some programs it did not fix my problem of allowing me to play DVD's through my Windows Media Player.
Summary
I have stopped chasing down possible or rather impossible drivers to fix my problem. My only other choice is to get a new computer with far greater capabilities than what I have now. One that comes with everything already installed and ready for activation. Thank you anyhow for being there for all of us though. Without you we are blind and walking without canes.

Using my dell service code I was able to verify my video card is a radeon 9800XT the only driver they had was not compatible. Below is the latest driver I found from dell.

I went to the ATI website it was pretty confusing, I found what appeared to be the correct driver and could only find it in an ATI catalyst control center download. Followed all the instructions it appeared to be working correctly but the second time i booted up to an unreadable screen with many white blurry lines the white equivalent of an unreadable screen.
This is what i found on the link above

If you read the release notes:
https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ati.com/drivers/Catalyst_93_release_notes.pdf
it seems to be the correct driver that win 7 home premium 32 bit version asks for.
Before installing the above drivers. I kept getting warning messages from windows complaining about video driver instability and when on Internet explorer pages were loading very slow and automatically going into a compatibility mode. This kept getting slower and slower my internet pages were coming up half size instead of full screen and had to maximize them every time.
I have surpassed my capabilities and will have to resort to some high paid tech to get it back in working order possibly have to go back to Win XP pro.

"works great, except it won't display the control center on my screen."
Version: ATI Catalyst Display Driver with Catalyst Control Center (Windows Vista 32-bit) 7.12 (12/20/2007)
Pros
it has really good display colors, and is very evcen in it's overall viewing experience.
Cons
i can't get the control center to rise up & display on my screen. i submitted a few tickets 2 ati, and they're escalating it 2 a senior techie. i flashed my bios, updated chipset driver, updated norton nis 2007 software, installed several hotfixes from ms, re-installed 7.11 and then 7.12 again catalyst softwares, but no onscreen display. if ati can nail windows, then they get out of it. otherwise, displayport will find me w/ nvidia.

"Newest version and I needed it."
Version: ATI Catalyst Display Driver with Catalyst Control Center (Windows Vista 32-bit) 7.7 (07/19/2007)
Pros
This driver is compatible with all "ATI Radeon" video cards and I needed it. This version is newer then the one "Vista" installs by default on my system. Something happened (not sure what or how) and mine became corrupted. All of the sudden I was getting an error message telling me to install tor update this driver. I remembered finding a similar driver at download.com before. I found this one and installed it. This driver installed with ease and corrected my problem.
Cons
None!

"Good driver so far"
Version: ATI Catalyst Display Driver with Catalyst Control Center (Windows Vista 32-bit) 7.2 (02/21/2007)
Pros
It works with Vista and my old x600 video card. Its refreshing to find something that works like its supposed to in Vista. Just having a decent video card that works speeds up and smooths out videos online and games too.
Cons
Havent found much to complain about yet. Doesn't seem to make much difference as to what I set some settings to. I haven't done much gaming with it yet but then again, its just a 128mb card.
