Version: AISBackup 2.0 build 236
Pros: This is a highly versatile backup program. I have used it for 18 months and although I have not had to test its ability to restore after a crash, I have been able to easily restore specific files that I deleted by mistake. The 30 use trial period was quite nice and it allowed me to test the program thoroughly. I have used it to back up to CD media and also to an eternal hard drive. The program can be configured in many ways and this takes a bit of getting used to, but is worth it. The support is excellent. I have used the online forum and found it very useful.
Cons: At first the instructions seem a bit overwhelming, but the help section is good and once set up operation is very simple.

Version: AISBackup 2.0 build 236
Pros: This is the first time I've written a review, but this application really does deserve one. I've tried most of the highly rated Backup packages including Genie, True Image, PowerBackup etc and AIS wins hands down. At first, the setup choices may seem a little overwhelming, but don't be put off, it's simply a reflection of how flexible and powerful AIS is; most are defaulted anyway. Frankly, I think that's to be preferred to the approach of other Apps that trivialise some important functions to the extent they don't work properly. AIS' style of incremental backup is really easy to understand and a breeze to use.
Where AIS really shines is in backup file management. Logs are informative (errors highlighted so you don't have to hunt for them) and there's a good choice of summary and detail views. With other Apps I was never too sure of what was safe to delete; with AIS it's virtually impossible to make a mistake (which is important given we're talking backup here)...you can restore your data to any previous period in time and "prune" old backups when you no longer need them.
Delete all your old Sessions with confidence as the last Session will restore ALL your data to the state immediately before your last backup
AIS keeps track of everything perfectly,
You can also do a full system backup and Restore i.e. Image, which most of the others can't do, plus Backup files are Zip format
I had problems with every other App I tried; I haven't had a single glitch with AIS and I went out of my way to break it when testing. This stuff is bullet proof and idiot-proof.
Support is first class...visit the Forums to see yourself, which is really what convinced me to try AIS. You won't find a negative comment...in stark comparison to what you see in the Forums of other Apps.
If you really value your data, you needn't look anywhere else. This is the real deal...a backup program for grown ups!
Cons: To the less experienced the configuration choices may at first seem a little overwhelming, which is a shame as AIS really is very easy to use. You can simply ignore the choices that don't apply to you, plus the documentation and support if you need it really are excellent

Version: AISBackup 2.0 build 236
Pros: Out of 30 products it has the feature I needed -- to put varying size requirements dependent on the file type. Better to have a full featured product than to have to keep switiching when I find something else I need.

"Great product, great support"
Pros: I've used this product for years, after trying literally every backup program I could find. I use it to backup to a separate physical hard disk and also to CD/DVDs. I've used it to restore my system after accidentally crashing it and after installing a new hard disk. It has never failed or lost any data. The program is upgraded constantly, at no cost to the users. When I first started using it, I had to email for support a lot. (I didn't know the cheap house-brand CDs I was using were defective!) They always responded promptly and helped me A LOT! Frankly, I don't know what their email support is like these days, because I haven't had a problem with the program in years! Maybe that's because the on-line (download-able) documentation and support is so good. And the 30-use trial period is unbeatable. Check out the web site, and check out the program. I recommend it to everybody I know.

Version: AISBackup 2.0 build 236
"Great product. Works as advertised"
Pros: Easy to use interface. It gets rid of the waste of using old "incremental" and "differential" backups. It was able to restore my system after a disaster.
Cons: Disaster recovery does require re-install of XP, however it does work with the help of the Microsoft Recovery Console.
