"uniquely unstable"
Version: ACDSee Pro 1.9.475
Pros
I have used ACDSee since 2005, because the setup is what I want: Simple to use, enough editing stuff.
Cons
I bought all new versions in the hope of sensible improvements, but was disappointed. I even got an increasing number of warnings :"ACD has found an error and will close down". No other program has ever surprised me with something like that. On top of it, the help function is less than helpful...
Summary
I will stick with version 12 (not with the free 14) because I'm used to it (so laziness),but will not download any more for me disappointing new versions

"Too expensive"
Version: ACDSee Pro 1.9.475
Pros
I have used it before so find it user friendly, intuitive. It is a great tool alright.
Cons
But it cost three times what others do and there are free programs that meet my needs.
Summary
If they ever drop the price to a competitive level and offer the same features I would buy it

"Some good, some not so good"
Version: ACDSee Pro 1.7.389
Pros
Looks good at the start. But lacks features in Pro 3.0.
Cons
Can't sort by capture time.
Summary
This is a huge omission on ACDSee's part.
-
"Good program but overpriced"
Version: ACDSee Pro 1.7.389
Pros
Excellent browser that does not need to "import" files into itself like other Mac programs do.
Cons
Everything it does in addition to its browsing capacity can be done better with Lightroom or Aperture.
Summary
Serving as a browser for any of your hard or soft drives, ACDSee for Mac is an excellent program, but it tries to do too much--most of what it does Lightroom or Aperture, or iPhoto can do and sometimes better. More importantly, it is over-priced.

"Great application!"
Version: ACDSee Pro 1.7.389
Pros
Fast browser for my images. Nice batch & search tools! Editing adjustments are simple.
Cons
Batch takes a little getting used to.
-
"View photos in simple folder format"
Version: ACDSee Pro 1.4.309
Pros
The ability to see the photos in a simple file folder format in exactly the same order taken is much handier than Apple's iPhoto. Easy to work across the Win7 and Mac platforms with software that behaves consistently.
Cons
None. Very satisfied with the product.
Summary
ACDSee for the Apple works.
-
"Still the best photo manager and browser BUT..."
Version: ACDSee Pro 1.4.309
Pros
- browsing of photos is convenient through scrolling or by using the spacebar
- easy and quick photo management and filingCons
- very limited compared to the Windows version
Summary
Being a photographer, I have been using ACDSee (for windows) from the version 4 up to the current version 12. But switching to the Mac has made me look into this ACDSee Pro 1.4. I can't live without ACDSee photo manager and some other applications don't just cut it like ACDSee.

"A lack not having the Windows version of ACDSee"
Version: ACDSee Pro 1.4.309
Pros
Direct use of Finder to organize all photo's without to catalogue first!!
So, appointing into different catagories is much faster and very clearly set out.
As a former Windows user ACDSee was always my favorite.Cons
Layout is quite simpel. Automatic processing like red eyes and much more is missing.
Summary
Please look at the very well developed version of Windows and all Mac users have a wonderfull pfoto programm!

"The previous version was better."
Version: ACDSee Pro 1.3.272
Pros
Do not know.
Cons
Program's only scans those folders where I go.
Summary
Hi! Sorry, I have bad English.
I have not had much time to consider a new version of the well but something that I did not like.
Program's only scans those folders where I go. It would be good so that scanning computer is performed automatically.
I want to ask, please add the Russian language.
That's all. If I see problems, I will write to you.
Sincerely Ararat Agayan

"It is getting better"
Version: ACDSee Pro 1.3.272
Pros
Easy, powerful organizational tools. The new retouching tools work very well.
Cons
The promised speed is not that impressive. To me, it seems no faster than Aperture. It does not coordinate well with the other programs that I use with my photos, such as iMovie.
Summary
ACDSee is emphasizing the speed of ACDSee Pro for Mac. Extra speed would be most welcome. Unfortunately, ACDSee Pro feels no faster than Aperture at the moment. The processing tools are great, but are currently destructive. Once ACDSee upgrades these tools to non-destructive form, I will be interested in seeing how it all works. If I can import processed photos directly into other programs, ACD could have a real winner here. It bears watching.
