"So Bad"
Version: ACDSee Photo Manager 9 build 108
Pros
Cheap! For that little money you pay - you will have a very "BIG" program in return. You $/Mb ratio even improves with time as the program get larger.
Cons
Very disappointed since version 8. I will not come back and try the program any more. I have been a fans of ACDSee since version 3. The program has been very good up the version 5. Unfortunately, the program was getting worst and worst time after time since version 6. The program become extremely bulky since version 8. My machine takes very long time to defrag since version 8, due to the "gigantic" data files acdsee generates.

"Just hit the pass mark"
Version: ACDSee Photo Manager 9 build 108
Pros
ACDSee Photo Manager is good program in general. It does the job as it claims. It is quite user friendly too. A credit to a set of batch tools such as batch rename, batch resize etc.
Cons
The program does eat up a lot of hard disc space. I do mean "a lot"! The program will generate some files (.cdx, .fpt) in your "application data" directory such as thumb2.fpt and thumb2.fpt ... ... These can be a few Mbtye. It can grow bigger and bigger. This may slow your machine down or even crash if you use the program long enough. My note book has 80G hard-disc with a usb 120G hard-disc. I can just get along with the program with a number of crashes each week. I eventually uninstalled the program entirely. I now use ComputPic. It is a bit more expensive than ACDSee with less functions. However, it is more stable and will not generate the database files that I hate!

"Great viewer but unstable and buggy"
Version: ACDSee Photo Manager 9 build 108
Pros
I have used ACDsee versions for several years, as a viewer it is very fast and easy to use . for quick fixes the built in editor software in the viewer is useful, but dont bother with their so called pro photo editing package as its not up to adobe standards.
Cons
The problem is that it is full of bugs, each release i hope will be better, but sadly the same bugs remain. A typical example is , while moving some files, the whole thing will hang, and the program has to be terminated and re started. No damage is done but its VERY anoying, its also pointless asking for support, they wont help you. If you have version 6 7 or 8, dont bother to upgrade, you dont get much for your money. I ended up parting with $39 and really got no additional useful functionality. Does some of "what it says on the tin",but wish i could find another viewer thats as fast but without the bugs.

If anything like older versions it's probably still OK,
