"Overcame My Inadequate Efforts"
Version: ABF Outlook Backup 3.2.1.63
Pros
Stunningly easy and fast. I had tried unsuccessfully to move Outlook from an older 32 bit system to a new 64 bit system. I made a mess of it. Outlook Backup completely ignored my futile efforts and moved everything in a few minutes with only a couple of clicks. No duplicates. No issues. No problems. I should have avoided all the frustration my "expertise" caused and bought this program sooner.
It is also noteworthy that a pre-purchase question to ABF was answered quickly, completely and accurately.Cons
Wish that it were free.

"Saved much grief when moving from OE to Outlook 2010"
Version: ABF Outlook Backup 3.2.1.63
Pros
I had delayed the conversion from XP to Windows 7 for much too long, simply because none of my colleagues had been able to successfully move their Outlook Express 6.0 to Outlook and then from an Old Machine to a New Machine which was running Windows 7. I had also read all of the horror stories about how in_reality it is almost impossible to get all of the newly converted Outlook 2010 file(s) moved over from an XP to a new Windows 7, so that your messages AND your complex folder setup AND your contacts make the transition intact. My solution: I had used ABF Outlook Express Backup for years, and it had saved my business many a time. So why not a backup for Outlook 2010 that could be restored intact to a new machine? Sure enough, ABF had it. In a few words: Slick. Flawless. Inexpensive. It worked.
Cons
None. This program works -- flawlessly.
Summary
This is a flawless, inexpensive program which backups up your OE-to-Outlook 2010 export on your old XP, and then restores it to a new Windows 7 machine. None of the machinations which you read about are needed here. Just load the ABF Outlook Backup program, give the backup file a name, and click. Backup done. Save the file to an external drive and restore it to the new machine. Click. Wait a bit. Celebrate. And move forward, without the usual frustration and grief. You go, ABF.
Post note: 16agers said it best, in describing the nightmare that this product avoids. Buy it. You won't regret it. And as an aside, over the years when I had the inevitable problems with an aging Outlook Express 6.0, the techs at ABF were fast and so professional in providing customer support,re how to use ABF Outlook Express Backup to protect my assets. It always amazed me that despite the fact that they were halfway around the world, they were always there when I needed them. Even during the years when they were learning to speak English. :-) Thanks, ABF, for everything.

"So Easy! - Very good price for full version too!"
Version: ABF Outlook Backup 3.2.1.63
Pros
Really easy and quick to install & use. No knowledge of the intricacies of Outlook needed.
Cons
Haven't found one yet.
Summary
Have been replacing PC's on a small business network and used this to transfer emails across from the old PC's to the new ones (for which you need the full version). 1. Install the program on old & new PC, copy the activation code from email onto a memory stick (activation code works multiple times).
2. Use the program to back up Outlook on the old PC (save the file to network, or memory stick)
3. Use the program to restore Outlook on the new PC, and you Outlook is configured (along with your explorer favourites) on the new machine, exactly as it was on the old one - emails, setting, the lot!!! It really is that simple. The only difference is that Outlook does cannot now autocomplete email addresses - until you have used them at least once again. I am very pleased with this software and will be regulary backing up my emails now. -
"What a time saver!!!"
Version: ABF Outlook Backup 3.2.1.63
Pros
Quick, efficient; no fuss, no muss
Cons
It seems to good to be true; but isn't....
Summary
I had to re-install my entire hard drive due to a catastrophic HD failure. I have about 100 folders set upin my MS Office-Outlook inbox and thousands of emails that never seemed to restore properly from any back-up process I have followed or used in the past. In desperation, I tried ABF Outlook BackUp without any idea if it would work. Even paid the $40 upfront. Wow, was I releived: it was done in minutes; perfectly. I couldn't beleive the time and agony I saved.

Version: ABF Outlook Backup 3.2.1.63

My existing rules transferred, but did not work. I deleted them and re-did.
Summary
I would have paid $100 bucks for this utility. Great job.

"A Superb Outlook Backup & Restoration Program!"
Version: ABF Outlook Backup 3.2.1.63

Cons

"outstanding! This product rocks!"
Version: ABF Outlook Backup 3.2.1.63
Pros
This product works flawlesslly. My needs ran beyond backup which is very important and ABF does it well. However, the really tough job is migrating Outllook data AND settings to a new computer. I have always loathed the task. No more. This is it.
Cons
Follow the instructions and carefully choose what exactly you want backed up or transferred. It works exactly as advertised and saved me hours of grief and aggravation.
Summary
My biggest obstacle to upgrading computers has always been migrating Outlook. It is a bear. Moving your .pst file does NOT recreate your old Outlook on your new machine. Windows Easy Transfer is NOT to be used for Outlook files. Do not try it. That leaves five hours of repugnant work meticulously moving about 10 hard-to-find files and knowing where to put them on your new machine. UNLESS you get ABF Outlook Backup.I know that a review is supposed to be "balanced" so I need to find some negatives to put in but I really don't have any. I have always hated dealing with moving to a new computer and rebuilding my Outlook and last night ABF Outlook Backup did it with no pain. So what do you want me to say? It would have been nice if it served me cold beer and pretzels while it took 10 minutes to back up. I truly do not understand why Microsoft never built a tool like this.

"When it works, it's fine. But problems, explained below"
Version: ABF Outlook Backup 3.2.1.63
Pros
It appears to do the job at times, and certainly ensures that I keep my Outlook updated
Cons
When I run, it asks me to close OUTLOOK. I do so, and it still demands that I do. In Task Manager, I stopped the 'Outlook' task. Then AFB said it couldn't find the file! Please respond to this message with simple solution.
Summary
Functionality would be simple if it worked. But as explained above, constantly asks me to close Outlook although it IS closed. So went to MS Task Manager and 'ended process' (despite dire warnings that this could be dangerous! You had advised me to do this). Then it 'cannot find file'! If I then click 'Ignore', it does something, but I'm not sure if it is saving Outlook properly......
It's all very frustrating, and seems a waste of money so far. PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS MESSAGE WITH SOME SOLUTION/ EXPLANATION.
