This program stores backup Microsoft Outlook files and Internet Explorer Favorites, but suffers from functionality flaws.
ABF Outlook Backup will back up and restore your Outlook Express messages and e-mail configuration files, and it goes the extra step by also backing up IE Favorites. The tabbed, clear-cut interface highlights its two primary functions: backup and restoration. We were able to manually back up almost everything promised. Messages, contacts, general settings, stationeries, templates, signatures, and IE bookmarks were saved in a snap. Oddly, the operation failed for some testers when we included templates in the backup.
You can neither password-protect your backup files nor compress them in your backup archive. There's a scheduler, but it doesn't display any indication of ongoing or accomplished backup and restoration tasks. Most disappointingly, you can restore only messages and contacts during the trial period.
The program is available in several different languages. We like ABF Outlook Backup's straightforward approach to data backup and restoration, but the flaws and quirks keep us from fully recommending this application.

"Easiest and best backup software products ever"
Pros: I have both the Outlook and the Outlook Express backup versions. They both take the guess work out of backups -- I have backed up both e-mail programs numerous times and restored them from a desktop to a laptop and vice-versa many times.
Cons: There are no cons, though I do wish that there was a discount when purchasing both of them at different times. I assume that the restore of Outlook used in WinXP will work with Win 7. Haven't tried this, yet.
Summary: Never received an error with either of these products. I am using the up to date versions of Outlook Express and Outlook 2003, will drop Outlook Express soon though I do believe that it is a better program for the non microsoft experts, like y'alls ... read more >>

"So far, the best I've ever used!"
Pros: Effectively backs up your MS Outlook. Preserves the folder views and settings properly. All email accounts are in tact and functioning. Backup and restore is a simple process and the user interface is quite easy to understand.
Cons: The MS Outlook email RULES do not properly associate themselves with the defined folder(s) when the Rule set to move the message to a specific folder. See summary for more info.

"Great application at a great price"
Pros: I like the option to save the file as a self extracting, so you don't have to load the application first if you are reloading after a rebuild or crash.
Cons: Non that I have been able to find.
