Version: A-squared Anti-Malware 4.0.0.50
"it finds the hidden bugs that many other products don't"
Pros: After trying this over a few years it has improved and developed into a very efficient and protective tool
Cons: it caused a delayed action fault in my current firewall
Summary: one of the best out there beats Symantec and McAffe hands down, with the anti dialer installed even older internet connections are well protected

Version: A-squared Anti-Malware 4.0.0.50
"Incorrect information in the product description!"
Pros: First, download.com has posted an 11.95 price tag on it & in reality it's $39.95 per PC, per year! Has a nice GUI & a huge signature file. Thats about all I like about it. I own a copy good until August 2009 but don't use it.
Cons: Seriously slow scan times with no option to configure. Bad idea on a PC with multiple hard drives connected. Adding an AV module might be a good idea with A-2 but you can't use 2 AV's & I use ESET already. False positives are still the norm with A-2.
Summary: I'm unfamiliar with the AV provider. Not much left to say. You either love it or hate it. You either use it & put up with it or it's a waste of money! My license is useless to me the way it is.

"This product requires registration in order to use!!!"
Pros: None. Since I don't surrender my email address so easily, I couldn't run the program.
Cons: They could have saved me the time of the download if the description above told me that I would have to "register" at their site in order to use their product. I don't really care to get on some company's SPAM list.
Summary: There is no reason whatsoever that a trial version of a product on download.com should require registration. None whatsover.
In addition, one of the reviews sounds quite a bit like it might have been done by their marketing department. -

Version: A-squared Anti-Malware 4.0.0.50
Pros: Tried it for 3 months already. Works good! Using firefox with WOT(do not surf online without WOT. It will keep you away from trouble!) Together with a-squared antimalware, avast!antivirus and spybot s&d, seems like all working good!
Cons: No commets as of today. I will buy the product.
Summary: As mentioned, one program only will not protect you 100 pct. A-squared is just stopping so many attacks, that in months, with all kinds of attacks, my pc still was working well.
I cannot say other than every program has its flaws. But with my ... read more >> -

Version: A-squared Anti-Malware 4.0.0.50
"Easy to install and use, provides effective protection"
Pros: Intuitive GUI, granular control, extensive behavioural analysis guard with many options for the types of behaviour to monitor, 'surf' protection using host rules with a high degree of granular control, easy updating, easily scheduled custom tasks
Cons: No utility to export settings
Summary: Seriously, the original reviewer must have been reviewing a completely diffeent product and got their notes mixed up. A-Squared provides anti-spyware and anti-virus protection. This functionality is available through OnExecution scanning (which leav... read more >>
