This simplistic self-help application is supposed to promote deep relaxation, but a programming flaw and lack of flexibility detract from its usefulness.
A Free Deep Relaxation Hypnosis Session's interface is easy to use, but not visually appealing. Brief instructions are provided on the window, but they begin with a prompt to buy the 30-minute audio session for $8.95. What you get for free is a short 6-minute session with positive messages displayed at the center of rotating zigzag lines. The graphics aren't impressive and the session doesn't include any type of audio track. There was also a glitch when we tried to maximize the window.
You can't customize the messages or any other aspect of the program; no user settings are offered. While this program is billed as freeware, users might find they have to ante up for the paid audio program to get the full benefits of the hypnosis sessions.
