Easily remove password restrictions for PDF documents with this simple-to-use program. There are a pair of caveats, though. One is a trial restriction not listed by the publisher, and one is the type of passwords it can handle. 3A PDF Password Remover presents a basic, but easy to follow, interface. There's just a spreadsheet-style list of documents and a few buttons to find and add more to the list. Users merely move through a wizard-like process to unlock the docs.

The publisher notes that the program can't handle passwords that prevent others from opening the document; it only works with passwords set to prevent editing. If the document is set with the first type, the program won't work at all.

However, if the document only has the password set to prevent editing, 3A PDF Password Remover bypasses it to allow you to modify the document at will. Although the publisher notes only a 29-day trial limitation, the demo version decrypts only the first page of a multipage PDF file. With these added password and trial limitations noted, the software worked fine. Any user should be able to follow the simple process without referring to the Help file.

  Cons: trial not fully functional - should be disclosed!!

  "Free trial not fully functional"

  Pros: Seemed to work, but only does first page of PDF.

  Cons: "Free trial" would not do the whole document--only one page.
