Very intuitive lay out. If it worked, it would be easy to use.

Doesn't work. In spite of claims to the contrary at the SoundTaxi website, this program cannot copy copyright protected DVDs. You get a pop-up message saying "This DVD is copy-protected and can't be ripped by 1Step DVD Copy".
Summary
If you're looking for something to convert your protected dvds into a format you can use on your iPod or another device, this program will not work. It's possible this trial version is hamstrung and the pay version actually works, but I haven't read anything to that effect. I downloaded the trial version to see if the pay version was worth it. If it worked, it would be worth the money. But it didn't, so it is worthless.
UPDATE: I contacted the company and they replied within a couple days with a link to the SoundTaxi MediaSuite trial software. The trial software works well so far. Naturally the trial version caps conversions at a minute or two, but it's enough to see that the program does what it claims. It was enough to sell me on buying the package this weekend.
