Anyone who uses the Web for a while knows that login information starts to pile up quickly. With online e-mail accounts, login information for online banking, and countless forums, most users start to use the same passwords for everything. It's pretty easy to see how this is a bad security practice.

Fortunately, you can download 1Password, which remembers all your passwords so you don't have to. Simply come up with a secure master password and then train 1Password to log in to sites for you. It integrates seamlessly with Apple's Mac OS X Keychain and generates complex passwords for you, making it impossible for anyone to crack your code. What's more, you can use 1Password's Go Fill option to automatically login to your favorite sites (think of it as super secure bookmarks) to get you where you want to be quickly.

You can organize your software licenses all in one section, and you can access 1Password from other computers, as well as sync it with your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad--and the app can now integrate closely with the free Dropbox service, for "syncing to the cloud." An easy-to-use Sync Conflict Resolver helps you manage differences in data between multiple devices. Overall, if you have a lot of logins for several Web sites, 1Password is the best software available to keep your logins secure without having to remember tons of passwords.

"Good program - does what it is supposed to do consisten"

September 29, 2010  |  By ccllyyddee

 |  Version: 1Password 3.4.2

Pros

It keeps a myriad of passwords manageable

Cons

It does not automatically fill in passwords when a site's page opens. I cannot figure out how to get it to generate names in the same way that it generates passwords without having to write a generated password down and copy it into the name box..

Summary

I like using the product.

"Great Product"

September 27, 2010  |  By stevefinlay12

 |  Version: 1Password 3.4.2

Pros

Easy to install and use. Indispensable

Cons

No problems

Summary

This company has great support. I needed to reinstall 1Password and lost my license key, so I emailed them this afternoon. Within 1 hour they had returned my email with a new key, and I was up and running again.

They are constantly upgrading and improving their product, which I have on my Macbook pro, iPad and Iphone. I love the integration with DropBox, so all my passwords and info are up to date as soon as I change them on one device.

This product saves me so much time, and keeps all my records accurately stored, easy to access and safe. Well done guys.

"An invaluable product."

September 21, 2010  |  By allibyrd

 |  Version: 1Password 3.4.2

Pros

Secure and handy storage of login names and passwords, notes and other sensitive information, appealing graphics, easy to use, syncs with desktop, outstanding customer support

Cons

No drawbacks so far!

Summary

I have been using 1Password for awhile, both on my Mac and on my iPhone, to store securely my login usernames and passwords, notes, and other information I want to protect. I have found it to be extremely useful, reliable, and easy to use. The graphics are appealing, and the sync function allows me to keep both the Mac and iPhone updated. On the rare occassion that I have experienced a technical glitch, the company that makes the software, Agile Solutions, has provided excellent customer support, really the best of any software product I've ever used. The support team is responsive, quick, friendly, and can tell you how to fix a problem or will come up with an update that does the trick within a day or two. They know their product well. This is is truly amazing customer service! I highly recommend 1Password.

"Two BIG thumbs way up!!!!"

September 20, 2010  |  By mjpoletto

 |  Version: 1Password 3.4.2

Pros

Easy to use, tons of features, organizational heaven for passwords.

Cons

None whatsoever

Summary

Ever since I purchased 1Password, my life online for juggling passwords and logins has been simplified beyond belief. The software is so easy to use and it integrates perfectly into your browser. Also, the ability to add stuff like wallet information for online payments, encrypting software license codes, identities and accounts like IM passwords and the like, it becomes an all-around amazing piece of software that simplifies and protects your life. In this day and age of identity fraud and people hacking into your accounts, you can rest assured that your personal information is protected using 1Password. Two big thumbs way up!!!

"A Remarkable Program"

September 19, 2010  |  By jerry.t.lloyd

 |  Version: 1Password 3.4.2

Pros

Ease of use. Simplicity. Very intuitive. Great syncing with my iPhone. Never A Problem.

Cons

Would like to see browser tab for Chrome.

Summary

I've been using 1Password since day one. I like everything about it. Get It. You Won't Be Sorry. I could write a dissertation on the "likes" of the program ... but I won't. Suffice to say it is the single most useful application I've ever installed in the several Mac's I've owned ... including this one.
