CNET Editors' review
Anyone who uses the Web for a while knows that login information starts to pile up quickly. With online e-mail accounts, login information for online banking, and countless forums, most users start to use the same passwords for everything. It's pretty easy to see how this is a bad security practice.
Fortunately, you can download 1Password, which remembers all your passwords so you don't have to. Simply come up with a secure master password and then train 1Password to log in to sites for you. It integrates seamlessly with Apple's Mac OS X Keychain and generates complex passwords for you, making it impossible for anyone to crack your code. What's more, you can use 1Password's Go Fill option to automatically login to your favorite sites (think of it as super secure bookmarks) to get you where you want to be quickly.
You can organize your software licenses all in one section, and you can access 1Password from other computers, as well as sync it with your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad--and the app can now integrate closely with the free Dropbox service, for "syncing to the cloud." An easy-to-use Sync Conflict Resolver helps you manage differences in data between multiple devices. Overall, if you have a lot of logins for several Web sites, 1Password is the best software available to keep your logins secure without having to remember tons of passwords.
Publisher's Description
From Agile Web Solutions:
1Password is a Password Manager that uniquely brings you both Security and Convenience. It is the only program that provides Anti-Phishing protection and goes beyond password management by adding Web Form Filling and Automatic Strong Password Generation. All your confidential information, including passwords, identities, and credit cards, is kept in one secure place provided by Apple's OS X Keychain. 1Password browser extensions support Safari, Camino, Firefox, OmniWeb, DEVONagent, NetNewsWire, Netscape Navigator, and Flock. All browser extensions share the data stored in the keychain which means you never need to manually copy your passwords between browsers or from the password manager to a browser ever again! 1Password has received numerous awards, including 4.5 mice from Macworld magazine, MacLife Editors pick, and was the Pick of Week on MacBreak Weekly by both Leo Laporte and Merlin Mann.
What's new in this version:
- Improved 1PasswordAnywhere.
- Improved French and German localizations.
- Minor improvements in credit card filling.
- Made changes to avoid conflict with Web Snapper extension in Safari.
- Improved diagnostics script.
- Fixed a bug in 1PasswordAnywhere that prevented some of the items from being decrypted correctly.
- Fixed a problem where Fill menu items were greyed out in Firefox.

"Don't know how I lived without it."
Version: 1Password 3.3.1
Pros
It's seamless and works completely intuitively knowing what screen I'm on what login to use even if I have several hats I have to wear to login to the same site.
Cons
Haven't found a complaint worthy of noting. I know that sounds unrealistic but I simply love this program.
Summary
It's there when I need it remembering logins I swore I never signed up for. It sits in the browser pain and whenever there is a upgrade to something mac, you just expect these guys to send you one very shortly. I had to write them for help once for an address bar issue and the response came within the hour and couldn't be nicer. Did I say I love this program? I do!

"Keeps getting better"
Version: 1Password 3.3.1

This app is a winner both on the mac and on the iPhone! The developers just keep adding more and more great features and this is one app that never crashes on me and never has lost any data whatsoever. How did I live without this app for so long! Besides saving passwords extremely securely you can save photos, screenshots, documents, banking info etc.....and everything is integrated with your browser.
I used to use an old password saver/manager for years but the developer has no intentions of continuing support or of syncing it with the iPhone so I checked out 1Password. Very glad I did!
Several times I have had questions using 1Password and the developer responded very fast every time.
If your even considering a password manager or even just a safe way to save important information don't hesitate to choose this one, you will not be disappointed. -
"Easy to use"
Version: 1Password 3.3.1
Pros
It is there when I need to use it.
Cons
Takes using it as an extra step to sign in
Summary
It makes it possible to access sites requiring sign-ins that I use from time to time without having to refer to what-did-I fill-in folders.

"Over all good but could flow better when using"
Version: 1Password 3.3.1
Pros
Keeps all of your information secure and in one place.
Cons
A little clunky with day to day use. Would like to have it more readily recognize fields that need to be filled. Would like it to automatically fill in my personal info like name, address and so on.
Summary
This is the best that I've found for the Mac platform I came from RoboForm and would prefer that but not Mac compatible yet. 1Password is a good start and hopefully they will polish to flow of use. Though it looks great it needs to interact with all of the websites we use on a daily basis better than it does.

"Worth every penny and more!"
Version: 1Password 3.3.1

I have been using 1Password since I transitioned to the iMac 3 years ago. It tops the charts in usability and performance and I have not found another program or hardware company that offers better customer service. Response is almost immediate. Now that they have a Windows version and an Android version the program surpasses any other on the market at any price. The only thing close to it is LastPass but it is not as polished or has the features.
What sets it apart is the ability to store software licenses. I have found this incredibly useful over the years, especially when changing computers or installing software on new machines. Everything I need is in one place.
Recently I discovered that I overpaid for the program, ordering the family pack instead of the single user when I upgraded to v3. I sent an email on a Sunday explaining the problem and later THAT DAY I received an email that they will credit my account even though I upgraded over a year ago. In my response to the company I stated:
"There are many company's but what distinguishes the best from the worst is their level of customer service, fairness and honesty. My experience is that they take on the personality of the owners and managers. Agile certainly ranks at the top of the list. Congratulations!"
That says it all,

"Pretty good but this is not a set-it-and-forget-it app"
Version: 1Password 3.3.1
Pros
It's very comprehensive and covers a range of things you log in to.
Cons
It requires vigilance.
Summary
Many of my web logins had to be manually updated at some point when web pages have changed. That may not be a bad thing. 1Password can do what it can do. It needs help like almost all software does. Essentially, when you encounter an updated login page, 1Password may start another account. The program has limitations on its auto functionality. You need to jump into this right on the spot and be vigilant or else you'll start to have a bunch of sprawl on your hands. I don't use the program, these days, for its auto login and auto fill functions. I'm happy when those work. But only 2/3rds seem to go smoothly at any given time. For some reason it forgets usernames at times and simply fills in "username" where the username goes. Some engineer thought that would be a good default guess, I guess. I don't know why any of this happens and I've used up my time budget to gain expertise in the program as I do have a day job and don't have the cycles to delve much deeper than I have. I emailed Agile Solutions support once for a specific issue and was instructed to read the FAQs, which I had already read. Oh well. But I found a big upside. The program itself is quite secure and I store a lot of my unstructured data, which also includes a list of all my usernames and logins. It's a bit of time even to maintain this, but it's in an app that's easy to open and organize; and whenever auto functions fail, I just go to my written out list of usernames and logins and fix the problem.

"I'd be lost without 1Password!"
Version: 1Password 3.3.1
Pros
Practically everything online these days requires a password. Unless you use the same password for everything (a bad idea), it is practically impossible to remember all of them. 1Password does it for you and even generates secure new ones if asked.
Cons
My only complaint is that the 1password toolbar icon disappears each time Safari is closed and opened. It isn't hard to get it back, and you can instead use the key in the menu bar, but the icon was always there in earlier versions of Safari.
Summary
Now that 1Password 3 allows syncing with PC's and other devices through Dropbox, your passwords are available to you anywhere and anytime. A great convenience!

I have and use Password Wallet. I heard about 1Password and how good it is. Decided to try it. What I heard is justified! Besides being so easy to use from the browser and having several great features, the support has been prompt and courteous. I have been impressed. Thanks, Agile!
I would readily recommended 1Password and Agile Solutions. -
"Suspicious 5 stars"
Version: 1Password 3.3.1
Summary

I'm using 1PW for a while now and I'm very happy with it. Although I'm no more certified (in former times I was:-) nevertheless I work with Macs for over 25 years now and I'm not affiliated with the company, too.
As system and net admin I have to handle dozens of different and very high level passwords, ID files, contract numbers... . 1PW is the tool of my choice. We have tested it in our company in many ways and think it's the most comfortable and secure password save we ever had.
Once I had a question sent to the 1PW support and got an useful answer within hours. That's more than some well known big companies do.
I'll not give you my name as you didn't, too.
