"this is not a book you want to read"
Version: 15000 Useful Phrases ebook 1
This is an interesting concept, thousands of phrases pulled from real usages. I have a print copy of the book which I use to perplex people. To pull a phrase from the book: this is "inscrutable and perplexing".
This was an early 1900s attempt to increase English fluency, but the organization of the book makes it useless for most purposes. Reading this would be "protracted and fruitless" to use a phrase from the book.
If you want this for computer text generation, analysis, etc, purposes, get the free copy from the Gutenberg Project. If you want to learn English, there are better ways to do it in this century. To write this review, I used the Gutenberg version and some text searching. "I have acquired some useful experience" in my years with computers and have "solid knowledge" of grep, the Unix text search program.
