This tiny, simple, and free application lets your Yahoo IM buddies see what songs you're listening to in iTunes. One thing we really like about YTunes is it will launch your iTunes jukebox as soon as you click its desktop shortcut. When you play a track, the title, artist, and album info pop up in the same spaces where your IM status usually appears. The program isn't highly configurable, but you can reorder the way in which the song information appears, and you also can tweak the transparency of the program's control panel. Even though YTunes only performs one job, we think folks who frequently chat with other audio junkies will find this add-on a nifty way to learn about new music.

Pros
Does exactly what it says: <p>- displays the song played on ITunes on Messenger status. Useful if you got friends or family (who want to grab your mp3s or if you want let everyone know you are coool) <p>- has some alert window that pops up if you want to move to next song.
Cons
Works on W2K but not on XP - must be some small configuration. <p> <p>No bugs - may me new features: <p> <p>Could have a way also to rate songs on the notifications for each song - may be a time duration on how long the notifications are shown could also be useful.

Share audio files you're listening to on iTunes.

YTunes allows you to share with you friends on Yahoo Messenger what you are listening to in iTunes. YTunes monitors iTunes and when the songs change YTunes will notify you with an optional pop-up window and change your status in Yahoo Messenger. With the pop-up control you also have the ability to advance to the next track, pause, or rewind to the previous tracks.
