  Don't expect updates or support

  Summary

  I started to become concern when I sent a request to their support folks, via the Mountain Systems web site form asking a question about Vista compatibility and never received a response. Calls to their phone number 276-676-2834 show the phone has been disconnected. The person who answered their other support number 276-676-2093 tells me she has had this number for 7 months and consistently received calls for Mountain System. Please don?t continue to harass this person. Looks like they are Out-of-Business.

  Pros

  This program unlike most makes it easy to interface with other programs and scripts. Great rules language and they add new rules with updates from time to time. Have used this program as my X10 brain for years, very reliable. One of the few good X10 programs to support the Smarthome USB interfaces. Using VBscripts you can add your own functions, such as appending to a logfile on a webserver or setting IM status based on events.

  Cons

  Won't trigger rules based on events sent by itself, which should be configurable. Clunky update interface that updates regardless of whether it's needed, and they don't update the version number on their support site for manual update. Needs a rule function for time delay before continuing instead of having to use scheduler.
