Wondershare Dr. Fone for iOS for Mac gives you multiple options for recovering files from lost or damaged devices, or that you deleted accidentally. You can scan your device, iTunes backup files, or iCloud, and then save the recovered files right to your computer.

Pros

Previews: Once the app has finished a scan, it displays the items it found on the left-hand side of the interface. Clicking any item lets you preview the found files, so you can quickly find the one you're looking for.

Nice interface: The controls for this app are intuitive and straightforward, so even users unfamiliar with this type of program should have no trouble completing scans and accessing lost files. The app walks you through the process of scanning, and then presents the results grouped by category, so you can quickly locate the files you're looking for.

Cons

No trial recovery: The trial version of this app only scans and shows previews of the recoverable files. To actually recover the files you need, you'll have to upgrade to the full version for $69.95.

No text previews: You can preview many types of files, which is extremely useful when you're trying to determine which you need to recover the most. The exception is with text messages, which don't have previews, so there's no way to see what they contain unless you recover them all.

Bottom Line

This app is powerful and easy to use, with a good combination of features and an accessible interface. It would be nice if the trial version offered a few free recoveries of individual files as some similar programs do. But if you need to recover files from a device you lost or one that was damaged, this is a good option.

This product is outstanding! I couldn't be more pleased. I recovered 1836 photos after my wife wiped her phone clean with the restore function. None of the photos had been backed up (that won't happen again), and all were of great sentimental value. I recommend this to anyone who needs to find lost data. Five full stars!

I kept getting an error message from this software about "unexpected problems" each time I tried to recover accidentally deleted messages on my iPhone. It also crashed 3 or 4 times, and every time it takes another hour or so to scan the phone and locate deleted files. In the end I just recovered the messages on a file on my Mac rather than the phone. This is better than nothing, but when you pay $80 for a software you expect it to work as advertised. There is no provision for claiming your money back, or any guarantee as far as I can see.

It was easy to use. You can see the results of the scan before you make the decision to buy the software.

The software recovered all kinds of junk images, including album covers from my music accounts and various social media photos I had viewed, however, it did not recover anything I had lost from my photo gallery. I ran the scan twice with the same results.
Summary
My phone spontaneously deleted my entire camera roll, but this software did not find or recover any of my photos.

It actually works, don't know how, but it does. Accidentally restored an incorrect backup to my iPhone when upgrading iOS. Thank god for Dr. Fone, because I was able to recover all my photos that had been deleted by the wrong backup.

i somehow lost an important client on my text imessage so i was really upset because it was a big contract we got for my business, downloaded this software and it brought out the deleted message. this program works 100% and i would recommend it to everyone i know.

How awesome! I tried to scan my iPhone 5 if I can recover some important files there. I was surprised that the scan would really recover those files! There are some old photos as well that I will definitely keep.!
