  Pros

  2X strength of internal card on my acer aspire. really easy to install; I know nothing about computers, it worked first time I installed it. Used it 3 years with a netgear dual-band router - no problems with either.

  Cons

  doesn't like sleep mode - sometimes have to restart computer after wake up. It's a big protrusion on the side of my laptop; surely they could make it smaller. It's 3X larger than my 128 gig flash drive.

  really good product if it were smaller I would have given 5 stars

• Just doesn't work

  Pros

  None at all. I can download the software - which is something called the "Netgear Smart Wizard" and it seems to install fine. Then it opens - briefly, for a fraction of a second, and promptly shuts down. Thus the USB adapter is unusable.

  Cons

  It just doesn't work, so the USB wifi adapter is unusable on Windows 7 64 bit.

  Way back on version 1.2 Netgear promised 64bit support. Still waiting to use this thing on my XP or Vista 64bit os!

  Summary

  I will be rotting in my grave before Netgear actually does what it says it will do. Of course, no mention on the box that it does not work with 64bit anything!

  Tried several locations, including cnet, all of which all linked me back to netgear downloads which does not seen to like me.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Sep 16, 2009<p/>The webpage at ftp://downloads.netgear.com/files/WNDA3100_V1.6_setup.exe might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
