  I tried to record a very short clip a few times to see if it worked. i ran out of time before i could get it to work. :(

  a n unlimited trial with limits on recording time might be useful. can't try it so I won't buy it.

  Easy to install and it really does record whatever is on your computer screen. But you will have to constantly play with it to get the size just right.

  Not difficult to figure out how to use.

  Cons

  Did not record the area I needed. I selected the area, but the video would not record. It just showed up as a pink screen. May be the proprietary format of the video itself.

• Immediate Problem After Download

  Have not used it yet and may have to uninstall it.

  Need fix to 4.0 version download. Compatibility issue with Windows Media Center.

  Summary

  After I restarted my computer I got an AppCrash and a Windows error message saying: "Windows Media Center Receiver Service stopped working and was closed......A problem caused the application to stop working incorrectly. Windows will notifiy you if a solution is available. I have Windows Vista, Service Pack 2 and everything is up to date. I am looking for a support forum to check for futher solutions.

• Great Recording Software

  I've never seen a product that makes high quality videos for Youtube, it does it perfectly and it looks really good, try it and then buy it. It's presets for a Dual Core PC work perfectly, and it makes them HD, now be prepared for a CPU sucker though

  Cons

  Most recorders take up quite a bit of CPU, this one is no different at the most it is 50 to 60 CPU, nothing more on a Dual Core.

  Summary

  This is a great product if your a huge video recorder and the HD settings are basically set, but Camstudio is the lighter choice and you can find many settings and a codec to go along with it, get this software if you wish to make DVD looking movies, may not be perfect, but when you tweak it the way you want it is pretty good, plus at the preset for Dual Core Youtube minimum is a 10 minute video, a ten minute video for this software in WMV has a size of 90 MB that is very small for the quality that you get out of the product, you should definitely consider getting this product.

  EXTREMELY easy to use, captures almost anything.

  You have to buy it, or use the 2-minute free trials.

  Summary

  This is a great software for those that want to capture streaming media off the web. It maintains great picture quality and audio. However, you do have to purchase the software if you want to record longer a clip for longer than 2 minutes. And 40 dollars is a bit pricey even for a nice program like this.

  A nice and simple screen recorder that record well. Video quality is above average and is saved as an MPG file. Recorded videos are saved in a folder. Good quality videos.

  Cons

  Interface is a little tawdry. I find this product to be a little unstable at times.

  Summary

  Good product, but a little expensive like most screen recorders. It gets the job done and its videos that are recorded are even clearer than other screen recording products that I've used. So far, it's my favorite screen recorder. Get it! You'll like it.

  Records well. Better than HyperCam, Fraps, or BSR Recorder. Good quality video when recorded.

  Cons

  Bad interface and is unstable at times.

  Summary

  Good product. Do not install WM Recorder, but use this one.
