This handy, freeware utility for intermediate to advanced users brings the Unix Tail command to Windows. Wintail is a DOS command-line program that displays a specific number of characters from a given text file. It's best used to monitor changing log and error files in real time. It doesn't include a help file, but in classic command-line fashion it displays all options when invoked alone. You also can set the background and text colors. Novices can pass, but Wintail's small size and ease of use make it a great addition to any system administrator's toolbox.

Developer’s Description

Put background and foreground colors on your Windows environment.

This small program was developed to get a similar functionality of famous Unix program tail under windows environment. It does not aim to replace it completely. I added some additional functions like token search, background and foreground colors and like coloring for tokens. You need to have at least Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 to run this program.
