This freeware gives users a single location for simple housekeeping tasks the computer already performs, making it seem more of a minor timesaver than a necessity. Windows Tidy Utility's interface is simple, with clearly marked icons to delete temporary files, clear Internet cache, empty the Recycle Bin, defrag disk drives, and see the computer's system information. Additional icons close Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes. Confirmation is requested before any activities are executed, and a status bar at the bottom displays results of the selected action. Selecting Defragment Disk in the program only launches the Windows version; it doesn't defrag better or faster. Windows Tidy Utility does exactly what it promises, but it doesn't enhance any of the processes. Novice users might benefit from having everything in one place, and this freeware's price is right for any user.
