I did not mean to compare it to "Freemake" or "Wondershare". "ConvertXToDVD5" is the one you want for transcoding to DVD.

• Version 1.6.3.4360 froze and crashed computer. Win7 x64

  Simple interface to use.

  Cons

  Tried to convert a vob file to mp4 1080p. The computer froze and crashed.

  Summary

  May try again later. But there are other converters out there to try. This wasn't a good (first) impression.

  Pros

  Tried almost all the popular ones, shareware &#38; freeware -but WinAvi beats them in speed. Can config bitrate,size,etc. manually,can contol cpu usage,good output quality too.

  Cons

  Can't convert some AVC H264 files.

  Summary

  WinAvi is the RoadRunner of video converters. Wonder if other converters can beat this one anytime soon? :)

• Really Fast Video Converter

  Pros

  This is the fastest video converter I've ever used. On my performance i7-920, takes an average of 5 minutes to fully convert a 750 Mb avi to DVD. Nero takes up to 3 times longer.

  Cons

  $50 is a bit steep.
