It can be done!

Pros
It's proven to work. You don't actually "run on water" but on the Hydrogen in the water (H20). It takes elect. and rods to separate the water. I did a science fair project with a ("C") cell, and produced a lot of H and O. It's called electrolysis
Cons
H is explosive, so they either store a small amt (still dangerous) or produce it on demand. What sells better "run on water"/ "run on H from water" ? I did this is Jr. High science fair (@1960) and generated H which I used to set off a good bang
Summary
The dangers of H are more than with Gas. These discussions usually downplay the danger. It does work, but what are the trade offs. It is like electric cars don't use fossil but where do they get the electricity to charge them. If the power plant burns fossil fuel, usually at a higher rate than the car would on gas, then the car has a larger carbon and greenhouse gas foot print than the one next to it running on gas and getting @30-50% less mileage. The answer to all this is look around, is it getting hotter where you live or is it a record cold. In the south where I live it is getting colder in the winter. We have had more snow in the last 10 years than in the first 47. As a famous man once said "Wake up America" Earl Pitts, Pits off!
