• Completely outdated, not user friendly

  Summary

  I downloaded the "free trial" and looked at the program. Initially, it looked like it might work well. Many of the fields you are unable to enter information into, and we assumed that since it was a "free trial", it was a limited functionality version, so we purchased the full version for 5 horses at $39. We again tried to enter information into fields, and it would not accept data by clicking on the field, nor could we find anywhere in the menu where we would be able to enter the correct information. There is no clear "help" feature, nor is there a clear way to contact the company. I finally sent an email to support@alphamindset.com (the same email address that I received a refund from). I never received a response from the company, so I uninstalled the software. Two weeks later, I tried again to contact them and found a separate website to enter a "support ticket" into. I did receive a response this time and asked for a refund. They refused, claiming that they have a "no refund policy" but that they wanted me to reinstall the software (that I don't want) and go through a lengthy tech support session to "help their future customers". Steer clear of this sub-par software and don't waste your money!

  I like that it has an area for misc expenses not related directly to the horse, like trailer, halter etc purchases. List a lot of the common vaccinations.

  Covers most of the items that must be tracked for a boarding facility. Fairly easy to use and somewhat intuitive. Addition of horse pictures makes it easier to identify which horse's information you are viewing. Fairly complete. I am considering purchasing the 5 horse version.

  Cons

  A little slow on win 98 (my barn computer). <p>Needed to update database software to microsoft jet 4.0 and mdac 2.6 (no small task using dialup and should be packaged with software). Would really like to be able to customize reports and billing. only a predefined set is available.

  Apparently $10.00 buys you what you get to try for free...one horse. Costs $25.00 for up to 5 horses for a 'home' version. But I own 6 horses, so I must pay for a 'professional' version to add my sixth horse. I can get professionally produced products with more features for less money. No thanks.
