Restoring lost files can take time and effort, but Undelete Professional Edition aims to make the task a bit less painful. The program consists of several components. Recovery Bin looks like the Windows Recycle Bin but with some convenient and powerful enhancements. First of all, any file, however it was deleted, goes to this bin. Secondly, you can browse deleted files in the same way as in Windows Explorer. You can remotely restore files deleted on others computers in your network (a feature admins will find useful). Last but not least, you can keep several versions of each file. Emergency Undelete runs without an installation, which is crucial for protecting deleted files from being overwritten by the system. Finally, Undelete Professional Edition lets you recover previous versions of Office documents (there is a similar feature in MS Office, but it's less convenient). At the same time, Undelete Professional Edition lacks a few powerful restoration features we'd like to see. For instance, it can't find items on damaged partitions. That may rule it out for the most mission-critical applications, but it's still a strong contender for small offices.
What’s new in version 6.0.163
Version 6.0.163 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.
The installation wants to modify your Windows firewall but if you're running something like ZoneAlarm, like I was, its still broken. It also installs an undelete service which tries to capture any file deletion actions that occurs outside the Windows Recycle bin. This introduces a bit of performance issue as the disk is heavily used during this activity.

Further, you cannot directly undelete any files. i.e. you can't expect to download this "trialware" and expect to see if it can find and undelete any files because it is "disabled". Thanks but no thanks. Anyone expecting me to buy trialware that is broken is only targetting desperate people. Unfortunately for the developers, I am not one of them. My advice to others: Try something else.

Pros
Seemed like a nice program (saw the files I need to undelete).
Cons
Can't restore without buying; beware.
Summary
Great idea but poor implementation

Pros
Easy to install, clean interface, good idea for app. (I tested Undelete Pro v5, on WinXP SP2, 1.5GB RAM, 400GB over 3 hard drives and 8 partitions.)
Cons
No indication when it is finished installing, and no explanation why it includes folders and files automatically. Worse, it included my Firefox folder with all settings for deletion. Read all docs, but didn't feel secure in emptying the modified Recyle Bin. It was good I didn't - I would have lost my main browser and it's settings and bookmarks!
