UltraPlayer Media Player for Windows

User Reviews

• Wonderful little music player

  wfraser1982August 5, 2011

  Pros

  Easy to use, small, convenient

  Cons

bit hard to read the display

  Summary

If you're looking for a basic player to handle your music, this is an excellent option but it is very basic. I wanted something to play mp3s and it does that well. I don't know about streaming audio and it doesn't play video, but I have vlc for that. I'd recommend this is you don't want anything fancy.

• Simplicity Itself!

  hewnstoneFebruary 9, 2010

  Pros

As stated, simplicity is the key to this device. Lots of functionality, much less hassle than one might be used to with say WMP. Lots of cool add-ons, skins, etc...

  Cons

I myself had no luck getting the onboard radio linkage to work.

• This is Windows98 Era

  nmweathermanDecember 8, 2009

  Pros

  My Windows XP ran it

  Cons

  Too small on the monitor

  Summary

  1. The GUI is 'way too small to deal with without squinting 2. Won't play videos, just for music. 3. Click the wrong "X" on the GUI and it flies to pieces and disappears. 4. Has no full-screen that I could find.

• Doesn't Record Streaming Media

  rln_usaApril 26, 2009

  Pros

I only had one purpose for utilizing this software.

  Cons

Software description claimed to record streaming audio, but could not.

  Summary

The software says that it records streaming audio from internet radio, but when I inputed the URL under the "Add" option within Playlist, Ultraplayer replied back "Error Connecting To Server". It was pretty frustrating, too, because I could open and play the radio station simultaneously in another window. Guess I"ll have to look for another software package.

• Ugly, hard to use

  flemur13013April 22, 2009

  Pros

  It's free.

  Cons

GUI wastes space, hard to see, hard to use. Recording a stream is very awkward (use AIMP2 instead!).

  Summary

There's lots better - if you want to record radio streams (and do other typical playing functions, plus converting), try AIMP (AIMP2?) instead.
