• malware shuts the computer down when trial period ends

  None, but it can edit text.

  it accounts for 8 running processes at boot time malwarebytes can remove them spybot search and destroy can remove them superantispyware can remove them

  google "is ultraedit malware?" you get descriptions about positive scans with every actual antivirus site. the top entry from someone who pays google for ads is from a place called ultraedit.com that show ultra edit is free from malware. i got this 2 years ago and thought it was gone went to www.sysinternals.com and got autoruns today... ultra edit still had 6 entries in the registry... since all the actual programs it tried to run are gone you must manually remove the entrys. im now using a program known as eedit it comes from a delphi site it includes source code so if it doesnt do something you want.   Less than none! How do I rate this zero stars???

  Cons

  Installation of this software immediately sent my virus programs into a frenzy, as it tried to install about 40 different Malware programs to my computer. Unfortunately, I couldn't catch them all &#38; now I am stuck with adware that I can't get any program to delete. They just keep coming back! :(

• Maybe the best text editor ever

  Pros

  It is fast stable and has a ton of functions. The column selection tool, FTP client, advanced sorting, multiple file search and built in ASCII table are just examples of the huge amount of stuff they have managed to cram into this tool.

  Cons

  For really really large files it can take a while to open the file.

  I Had textpad for years, I then got a new computer and tried Ultraedit. What a mistake it was operable for less than 2 months when it nagged me for a product update. The update rendered my software inoperable without an additional purchase. Pure Crap. I switched back to textpad with absolutely no nags and no problems. The company is a bunch of money grubbing thieves who could do so much more if they made a piece of software that met peoples needs that they could enjoy without the company trying to turn them into a never ending cash machine for IDM

  Wow, were do I begin. So many features. This tool is very handy especially for those who work on their own websites. The html highlighting is great and the html tools help me remember the format of html tags.

  Cons

  None. This is better than every free text editor out there.

  Summary

  I would definitely recommend this text editor to anyone who does website work. Its a very nice tool to own and worth every penny.

  Pros

  More powerful editing functions than you can poke a stick at, very stable. Love the column highlighting, file search, and advanced search / replace options, file compare etc...

  Cons

  You might not need the V15 upgrade if you already have V13 or V14 (which were also excellent products).

  Summary

  Have used it every day for years. Worth every cent.
