Given the glut of file organizers and search utilities on the market, any upstart with the word "ultimate" in its title is cruisin' for a bruisin'. We'd like to say Ultimate File Organizer is the Rocky Balboa of the genre, but it's more of a glass-jawed featherweight with a cocky attitude. The trouble begins with the installer. Don't uncheck the box marked Required Files. If you do, the installation simply proceeds without unpacking the software. Worst. Installer option. Ever. Then there's the cryptic, unattractive interface. Don't bother looking for help. There isn't any. Our attempts to enter text and wildcard extensions into the Search area produced no results. When we used Advanced Search to search for MP3 files on our C: drive, the program found several text files and crashed. If you must choose between this program and Windows Find, stick with the latter. It's no world champion, but at least it goes the distance.
Absolutely horrible drawing problems to the point that it is unusable. I am very sorry to have to give this software such a poor rating, it is uncharacteristic of me, but usability is dismal.
Summary
Drawing problems on Windows Vista makes this product unusable. Maybe a future software release might have better quality. This comment is for 1.1.5
On the whole, a good product.

I liked this program and would recommend it to most people. It is fairly easy to use, and it quite useful. I personally use it to organize my music. I would recommend this program.
Scan drives and folders to find files with specific extensions.Ultimate File Organizer scans drives and folders for files with certain extensions. It then allows the user to organize the files into groups and open the files when he or she wants. It also has a preview function for picture files, and a keyword function. In addition, Ultimate File Organizer supports searching for filenames, date created, or keywords.
