i went through the entire installation process, which is very simple and straight-forward, and then it took my browser to a webpage that says "thanks for installing tversity!" but it doesn't seem to be installed at all. i had checked the box that says to run tveristy when installation is complete, but nothing else happened. when i click on the new desktop icon that it installed, i get an error that says "windows is searching for tversity.exe. to find it yourself click browse..." i tried restarting, same thing. so then i tried to reinstall again, same thing. this program is a piece of junk and i've already wasted way too much time and effort on this crap that doesn't work

DO NOT INSTALL THIS PROGRAM. It's full of lots of "crap-ware" or bloatware that you have no idea it is installing until it's too late.
The best streaming software I have found.

Pros
Streams flawlessly, inexpensive, easy on your processor if the files are in a format your device can recognize.
Cons
TVersity needs a better way to organize files. TVersity apps would be nice. Most importantly, the TVersity website needs to add some better instructions/descriptions on their website.
Summary
I've got an old Sony Blu-Ray player which has been connected to my home network. I stream video files from my computer to my Sony via my home network using TVersity. I have used this setup for years and it still works great. I stream files that can be recognized by my blu-ray player without a need for converting, so it doesn't use up much of my pc's processor. I used the "free" version for years, but I have upgraded to the current version for a very low price. I've got thousands of videos, spread over 5 external hdd's and I am able to access all of them using TVersity. My biggest complaint about this software is the weak instructions that are available. I think it is capable of doing a lot more than the basics I use it for, but the website doesn't have a lot of instructions on the capabilities. I also wish there was a simpler way to organize the files. Currently, I have them organized by the folders on the computer, but I would like to link different folders together. I know it can be done, and I have done some linking, but it is very time consuming. Also, TVersity doesn't currently make any apps that I am aware of, but the server is easily recognized using the streaming app that is included with my Sony Blu-Ray player as well as a few apps for my iPhone. I've tried a number of other streaming software options, but they all want to convert the videos they stream, which uses up a lot of the CPU. With TVersity, you have the option to turn conversions on, off, or only use if necessary.

Not only could I not try this as was advertised, it also came with the added bonus of searchya and iminent malware.

This application had rave reviews from a co-worker.
Cons
Being a programmer I have no problems with a company wanting to get paid for its work, and $4 is an extremely reasonable amount for a quality application. But don't advertise a program as free to try, and then require you to purchase a license to trial the software.
Summary
Offering a free trial is not the same as a paid license with a money back guarantee. This is a bait and switch tactic.

Works as advertised, I was able to stream content to my PS2 through wireless connection.
Cons
Downloads later version of the software, not 1.9.7. And that version is no longer free. It is cheap but they should remove "free" from the description.

Pros
connects to my ps3, so i can play videos from network on ps3 also works with my samsung tv default settings work fine on most of my devices
Cons
not very intuitive and user-friendly for the casual user had to tweak settings two work with devices that didn't work with its default settings

to be honest, i'm still trying to figure out how to optimize and use all of this program's feature. it's not as easy-to-use as i would have liked it, and i had to google how to get this to connect to my samsung tv. turned out that i had to edit its config file. from there it was smooth sailing though. it works as advertised. i'd give it a higher rating if they made it easier to use.
